My i-glasses svga 3d keeps reversing the stereo mode!!!! The 3d is execellent until it switches from 3d1 to 3d2. The unit has 3 buttons on top. To turn the 3d mode on you have to hold down the power button for about 3 seconds and the osd menu pops up. The menu will allow you to adjust brightness, contrast, audio balance, horizontal image centering,Rgb balance,Etc. The very last one is the 3d mode it has the option to switch between 3d1 mode and 3d2 mode. Ok, so i select 3d1 mode and the 3d works great for about 20 seconds then it switches to 3d2 mode and nearly makes me go blind then it will switch back to 3d1 and it continues to do this every 5 seconds. It is almost like the glasses don't get enough ventilation and the lcd panels are overheating causing them to lose sync. If anyone knows why it keeps losing sync and switching back and forth from 3d1 to 3d2 mode please let me know!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Please contact Ross at I-O Display:

(916) 928-9639

The lcds in this unit will not overheat. This sounds like a refresh rate setting problem. Set your refresh to 100/120hz, 800x600 before you run the 3D Setting. This should fix your problem. If not, contact Ross.

Lower the resolution. I can get 120Hz, but only in 640x800 mode. Some monitors can get to 150Hz in 800x600 mode.

I want one of those monitors I must say. A 75Hz 3D experience is one to envy.

Regards,
Benjamin.

I just purchased a pair of i-glasses svga 3d glasses and immediatly noticed this very same problem. After getting in touch with the very same Ross mentioned in an above post, he immediatly knew of the problem and had a solution. It turns out the unit has some "old code", as he said. He immedialty offered to upgrade the code. Of course this requires me to ship my unit to io display systems, but I don't mind. I'm glad that this is a known bug that can easily be fixed.

I plan on writing up a review of the glasses once I get them back and have time to play with them more. But from my initial reaction, I must say that Commanche 4 looked awesome in 3D!

Thanks
Kevin

As far as image quality, I would say very good. No blurring at all. Text is sharp and very readable. Of course, if you try to increase the resloution beyond 800x600, the scaling makes text unreadable.

The colors are not as vivid as a normal monitor, but still very nice. Stock settings can be a little on the dark side, requiring an increase in brightness, and I did notice a vertical banding effect. Not sure why that is. Absolutly no flicker in 2D. When switching to 3D1 or 3D2 there is some flicker when not in games. However, using 3D while playing most games at 800x600 results in very little to no noticable flicker! A few games, like Commanche 4, do result in some flicker, although Commanche 4 taxes my system even in 2D mode, so a new video card may help.

As far as the quality of the device itself, the front is made of some kind of aluminum. At least it feels that way, giving it a very solid feeling. The sides, however, are made of a cheap plastic. The worst part by far is the stereo earphones. They tend to come loose and dangle, plus I hate putting those things in my ears. It's not comfortable. Also, the forehead pad can cause some irritation and leave a mark after extended use, but it does serve it's purpose of stabilizing the unit. As long as the unit is not strapped to tightly to your head, it feels comfortable.

I bought my unit from Virtual Realities, and I must say that it was a very good experience. Although I wish they would have tested the unit before sending it to me because they may have found the problem, I will say that when I contacted them about it they were very quick to get back to me with a solution. Armand is a very nice guy to deal with.

Like I said, when I get my unit fixed, I will have a complete review with pictures.
