I have recently purchased The Ultimate 3D Collection on DVD, which included a 3D converter box and 2 shutter glasses (I think IO Display Systems 3D glasses (wired)). The 3D appears to work with the glasses upside down. I was wanting to make an adapter between the 3D converter box and the shutter glasses. Does anyone have an idea of the current wiring. The glasses use a small head phone style connector. What I am aiming to do is to swap the left and right around. The 3D works currently with the glasses upside down, but not brilliantly. But good enough for me. | ||

I also just purchased this system. You have a button on the converter box that reverses the left-right sequence. Which DVD did you like the best? I liked the haunted castle. | ||

w-boyce, more details please, does it flicker a lot? If your friends try it, so thay complain of flickering? How large image do you have and does the room have to be dark? Can you sit thru one whole 3D DVD without problems? | ||

hmm, are you viewing 3D on a LCD projector? Wasn't that impossible? | ||

Thanks - I will give the button a try. The quality is OK, not brilliant. About the same as watching it on a normal Television (or just a little bit less). In a dark room the flicker is not too bad. Only bright portions of the movie have a flicker. Some of the 3D is not quite perfect, slightly double imaged on a small number of objects. But I saw Haunted Castle at the IMAX theatre and a small number of objects were doubled imaged their too. Yes, I was able to watch the entire movie. I am projecting upto a screen 70" x 70". About 100" diagonally. Hey, I was surprised that it worked at all, everyone was telling me that it would not work at all. In one of the discussion I read, someone suggested to double, and duplicated the shutter glasses. This sounded like a good idea too get around the flicker. I hope someone tries it and lets me know how to do it. (ie LL-RR-LL-RR). This would mean that the glasses would flicker at 60 Hz rather than 30 Hz. | ||

Thanks - the button on the 3D Converter Box worked, I can now where the glasses properly. I have watched Haunted Castle DVD, it was OK. A little bit of double imaging appearing on certain objects at certain distances (at other distances, objects look perfect). Remember this is not a perfect experience, but I found it quite good. I brought the video projector to watch normal movies, and it is a bonus that this even works. There seems to be a lot of dealers with the Sony Cineza, try taking your 3D glasses and movie to the dealer and try it out. The 3D Converter Box that came with the movies, I found would run on a 9V battery. So it made the 3D Glasses even more portable. | ||

Hello again... I'm glad the button worked. I am using my system with a 37' tv and a sony DVD player. I was able to watch all 3 DVDs at one sitting without bad side effects in a darkened room. We did not find the flicker too bad although it is noticeable. I also found a small trick that improved the image quality. I was able to use the S-Video output from the DVD player for the video signal, and at the same time use the standard video out for the converter box. Apparantly, the sync is the same. I hope this works with your projector too. Bill G | ||

The best in the series isn't in the set of 3; It's Ultimate G's. Best 3D, best (only real) plot, but not the most inovative or historical. |
