I need a silver screen but I can't buy it. Could anyone show me the way to make silver screen myself? My email: quangnp@fsoft.com.vn Regards, Nguyen Phu Quang |

I only know how to make a solid silver screen: Get a plate of wood (e.g. plywood). The surface should be matte white. So if you can get a white laminated plate which should be easy, you could get some sand paper and make it a little bit rough. When you cannot get a laminated plate, you could laminate it by yourself with white paper. It is essential that the surface is very very uniform! The color is a big problem! You should get a silver spray, but not all brands will work! So you should try first! It should contain NO plastic components for sealing. The spray I used could be seen at my fingertips when wiping on the surface even after it dried several days. That was perfect! You should really try different brands before using your nice plate of wood!! Maybe you have to build several screens before you get a perfect one! LOT OF WORK, but cheap! Good luck! |

Hi Andreas Do you remember which brand of spray worked for you? It'd save us a lot of experimenting. Alex |

Any silver paint with Aluminum should work OK. Make sure that there is real Aluminum in the paint, ask the store for documents if the can does not say what the components are. A good start is silver paint for heated surfaces, if it says up to 500 degress Celsius or similar, it probably has the Aluminum that you need. If anyone finds a good combo, write down the name and what the paint is made from and in what quantities. There are many places that mix paint at your request, so if you know what you need, try them. |

Hello Alexander! I used "Eckhard Silber" used for Xmas decorations. This is working very well. The problem is that the name was changed. I remember that "ehemals Eckhard" is printed on my can, but I cannot remember the new name. I will look. BTW: I'd guess that it is available in Germany only. |
