I'ld like to write some simple 3D stuff. I have I Art glasses with EYE3D (WICKED3D driver). I can't find an SDK for it, but I found one for WINx3D. 2 questons: Will Winx3d SDK work with I ART glasse and software? If not and I install the WINx3D driver, willit screw up what I installed from I ART? |

Winx3D won't screw up your glasses and software, but it does not give you pageflip to Wicked3D. As far as I know the only game driver implemented Winx3D is VRcaddy. |

Hi, sdy 1. WINx3D works with I-ART glasses as well as other glasses in the supported list. 2. I think you misunderstood a little about WINx3D. WINx3D itself has nothing to do with making a scene(or image) into 3D. It is for "Displaying" those images in sync with 3d glasses. That is, to use WINx3D, you have to create two images(left/right) and let WINx3D do displaying. VRCaddy does the exact same thing as I described above. VRCaddy renders a scene twice and hands over these two images(L/R) to WINx3D. WINx3D sends these images to the monitor in sync with vertical refresh and the glasses. If you want some example, you can find it at www.win3d.com. Once again, WINx3D is not for "creaing" 3D scene(image). You have to create it and WINx3D will do the rest. Like Anonymouse said, it won't screw up your system. Because I-Art's software does not use WINx3D and Wicked3D has nothing to do with WINx3D. They are totally independent from each other. AH HA! I understand, But now my next questions: When I play Half-life, what generates the second image? What makes the glasses automatically turn on? Thanx for your help. These glasses are really cool. |

I'm assuming that you are playing Half-Life with VRCaddy. The second image is created by VRCaddy. It tells the video card to create a second image based upon the information provided for the first image. Then, VRCaddy gives these two images to WINx3D for display. The page-flipping is performed by WINx3D. As was mentioned above, WINx3D does not create images, it will display provided images in stereo. So, the summary is: Half-Life describes the image VRCaddy converts the description into two images WINx3D displays the two images in stereo |
