Hi, im interested in making a video player that uses the above/below format. What i dont understand however is how the glasses actually work with the above/below format so as to produce a stereoscopic effect. erm.. does that make any sense? What i really want is some information on the side-by-side and above/below format. The above/below format is sync-doubling? or is that a different format all together? I find it fairly simple to create a video player that uses the above/below format... if indeed all i need is to display the same image one above the other. thanks.... i hope its clear.... Kyriacos |

above/below format is like sync-doubling, but sync-doubling being a hardware thing sometimes requires adjustments with a black bar between the above and below images, this is because if you don't have this, then one eye ball image will be slightly lower then the other. So simply put its not that easy, it would work but it would more then likely be misaligned by a few pixels (mine seemed to be 8 pixels off). It should be possible to store an video in the above/below format and then convert it to either sync doubling, interlaced (for line blanking) or if you feel you can do it page flipped (that is probably the most work), in real time. Its just programming wise it would take quite a bit of work. I thought about doing it myself, and base it off of a divx avi player I messed around with a while back, but I got a little to busy. |

www.win3d.com has a nice SDK to take care of the 3D Glasses part, works with any 3D Glasses. |
