I was wondering, why won't 3d glasses work with the VGA Box adapter for the Sega Dreamcast. I mean you can use a VGA monitor with the adapter and Sega uses WindowsCE libraries which might include a striped down version of Directx drivers. I don't know if its possible I just want some feedback. |

In theory it's possible, at least in sync-doubling format (above-below) format. Christoph |

Interesting... The problem is that the 3d glasses arrive at the store until this weekend and I don't have a VGA Box. Do you know of anyone who might give it a shot? |

Hi, I want to mention one thing. Even if you have 3D glasses and VGA box, you can't see Dreamcast game in 3D. You need a software like Revelator/Wicked3D/VRCaddy. I don't think(100%) those softwares work with Dreamcast machine. They are for PC(especially for Windows) VGA box is only for sending the singal(this is just a 2d image. No 3D data) to monitor. It does not do anything for 3D. To see 3D, the game itself or a software should convert a normal scene into 3D scene(a/b or interlaced or page flip) before the signal comes out from the Dreamcast. But for example the vrjoy200o don't need the VRcaddy, you ca use only hardware with the adapter doing pageflipping or synch |

Sure, glasses will flicker driven by the video sync signals - but for what, as long as there is no software generating two different views of the scene. You will have to convince either some programmer to include this feature in his next Dreamcast project (like it was done on PCs in those old days), or SEGA to provide some generic driver that turns all Dreamcast software into stereo (and will cost you probably lots of money, since you will have to send your console to SEGA for the update), like VRCaddy/Wicked3D/ELSA do on PCs these days. SEGA did the first once for the Master System, but apparently to no much avail... For all current Dreamcast Soft-, Firm- and Hardware : NO USE FOR SHUTTERS - PERIOD. |

Ok... you tell me all the technical and software needed. Now I'm in the edge of buying a new tv, I'm looking at the Phillips 27PT91S(http://www.philipsusa.com) and the Wega tv 27 inch FV16, is the one that has 3d Comb Filter (www.sonystyle.com) I really need to know which one is better. Any recommendations? Can this new gen of TVs help for the stereoscopic vision, I mean this two televisions? |

>>> But for example the vrjoy2000 has the box which doesn't need any drivers It doesn't require an additional driver as long as you already have 3D-content on the screen, like alternate-line-still-images, alternate-line-videos, alternate-line-applications or some old native stereo games. Nothing exists for the DC so far and I'd bet there never will be. Christoph |
