Hey everyone,

I have created a "fix" for the sky in morrowind, which is too close in the game. I have done this by replacing the clouds with single-color textures, and it still looks quite nice, in my opinion. I also got rid of the moons, since they show up too close as well. Here are the instructions for making Morrowind look good in 3D.

1) Download http://www.tc.umn.edu/~davi0953/mw3dfix.zip
2) Backup the existing "morrowind.ini" in your Morrowind folder.
3) Uncompress mw3dfix.zip to your Morrowind directory using the original folder names.
4) Before starting Morrowind, make sure you go into the settings and disable pixel shading.
5) Once in Morrowind, you may find it helpful to your eyes to make the menus 100% non-transparent. I also find it helpful to disable the crosshair. I just make sure that whatever I am aiming at (object or monster) is centered on my screen. I also increase the menu pop-up delay for objects, since it gets in the way of the 3D view.
6) If you have troubles with flashing or corrupted textures when in 3D mode (or disappearing rocks, walls, etc.) try using the 23.11 nVidia drivers instead.
7) If you are unsatisfied with the 3D depth in Morrowind, you can try using my 3D settings, which work great with the default stereo separation (30-35%). You can download the configuration file here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~davi0953/mw3d.reg. Simply double-click the file to add the changes to your registry.

Let me know what you guys think. I hope it makes your Morrowind gaming experience more fun and immersive.

Hi Chris.

Instead what? Newer drivers? I'm using 30.82 and I have disappearing rocks, walls, etc. when pixel shading is off.

Morrowind was one of the first games I played on stereo3d. I never had any troubles with the sky or moons bieng to close to the screen, also using the detonator 4 beta drivers will fix the problem of dissappearing textures.
