i-Art has recently opened a US distributor for thier products and the information there has confirmed that the Eye3D Premium glasses, rated No. 1 shutter glasses on this site's Best Buy page, are supported under Windows 2000 Pro. With the addition of the VisionTek XTasy GeForce4 TI 4200, time to get into the driving seat for excellent 3D stereoscopic viewing!!

Thanks everyone for advice so far and special thanks to this site for such wonderful information.

What would you suggest? A $50,000 LCD headset with 640x480 resolution? A $100,000 stereoscopic display?

After spending (cha-ching) $4000 on a Power Mac G4 + 17" FPD, $1100 on a new P4 2.53GHz + 533FSB mobo + 1.0GB DDR RAM + 120GB HD system, $1300 on Maxon C4D XL 7.3, $1300 on LightWave 3D 7.5, and an assorted number of additions (all within the past several months), I cannot afford, nor do I require, an expensive solution to a basic problem.

1. I have a life (sorry). IOW, I am not getting these for gaming. They are for 3D stereographic graphics and animation as well as viewing stereoscopic photos.

2. They are rated NO 1 in shutter glasses, with 3 of the top four being i-Art. Do you have a better recommendation?

3. They'll work with LCD-BIOS, Win3D, and a whole slew of other drivers. So, who gives about VR Caddy drivers...

4. Couldn't post with a real name. 4a. You didn't spoil anything...

I'm not going to spoil anything,I hope.
But you can have the I-glasses svga for 825 dollars.
I have the E-D glasses and I'm happy with them.
If I'm not misstaken they are little cheaper than Eye3d.

Just a few thoughts from a Swede.
Bye and good luck.

PS.I have very good experience with the E-D's support, just so you know.

Hi Jesper,

Yes, I know about the i-glasses SVGA 3D. I have the older i-glasses VGA, but they are not supported under W2K (and not supported much beyond that). Sorry to say, alot of stereoscopic hardware is not supported under W2K. There is no mention of system compatibility on the site for the i-glasses SVGA 3D and no response about it from I-O Display yet.

Only several of the more recent glasses are supported - Eye3D, H3D, X3D, E-D, and maybe a couple others. Contacted NuVision and they said that there is no support for my 3DSpex under it (yet - but they've had five years to work on it) :( .

Anyway, $825 is still out of my range right now and a little more extravagant than needed. That's why I concentrated on shutter glasses. Resolution independent (only dependent on monitor refresh rates) and I can probably live with the ghosting (certainly beats the 'cross-eyed' method and anaglyph glasses remove all color information to achieve their goal).

I'm not knocking eDimension's glasses whatsoever. They are very nice glasses (I considered all of the top 5 of the top 20 list given on this site, E-D were my second choice), but the Eye3D glasses won on the details (highest rating, no Relevator, 4-in-1, W2K support, perfect compatilibity, wireless). If the Eye3D's don't live up to expectation, then the E-D glasses are my next choice.
