I want to shoot and distribute videos shot with the Nu-view camcorder attachment, but I can't for the life of me figure out an "easy" way to do so. I've purchased the MSI glasses/kit, the Razor3d box, and the eDimensional kit as well. I've changed video cards from ATI to nVidia and even bought a new monitor. Any help you guys could offer would be GREATLY appreciated. In short, I'd like to create a package people could purchase to view the 3d videos on their computers (to overcome the flickering problem the TV presents). A dongle, glasses, and software setup would be ideal, but I cannot figure out any sort of ideal situation. MSI glasses (the card/glasses kit are cheap) + custom software? The eDimensional/Razor 3d box + glasses + custom software? I don't know. I guess I'm just asking what anyone else has done to show off their 3d movies or what they may suggest to do so. ANY and all help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Matt |

Matt, I would convert the videos to over-under split-screen format and code it in MPEG2 progressive. This should be put on standard DVD for play-back on any DVD-software-player under any operating system. The users can view this with any sync-doubler shutterglasses, like the eDimensional, on any VGA-board. If there's enough space left you can also put an interlace version on it for playback on TV with TV-shutterglasses, like the IMAX-3D-DVD's. It would be perfect if someone could develop a windows DVD-playback software which can read over-under or interlace format and convert it in real-time into the other format plus analglyph, plus side-by-side, plus page-flipping. Christoph, This is a good idea but how to do it in the practice? I have an ASUS6600 and both Premier6 and Ulead MS6. I cannot capture my NU-View PAL video in stereo. Which settings should I use? What plugin willconvert to over-under? What is "MPEG2 progressive"? Would TMPGenc do the job? It would be really useful if one of you 3D experts could write a guideline how to capture Nu-View video and create an SVCD disk. I know about Michael's but it does not work for me. maybe my capture card deinterlaces the video? Or the Nvidia WDM drivers do not work for 3D capturing. George |

Can I recommend you join the 3DTV group? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/3dtv/ There, you will find lots of friendly people willing to help you. We also like to share our 3D videos with each other. So please come and join us. For a free and easy way to convert interlaced video to above/below format I use VirtualDub and a filter called "showfields". I am writing a method on how to do it at: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~gedburnell/video.htm also see: http://web.onetel.net.uk/~gedburnell/3dvideo.htm http://www.puppetkites.net/virtualdub3d.htm Ged |

George: I am afraid that your card is not able to capture interlaced video correctly = nothing helps. I suggest to you to use DV and fireware or some standard video-editing card (Miro DC-10 e.g.) with non-deinterlacing build in HW mjpeg codec ... |

Guess it's too late now, but the Asus 6600 deluxe is GREAT for capturing stereo interlaced movies with the built in Asus codec. Then you have a interlaced AVI clip that can be converted into any format you like. |
