I just recently purchased a pair of Cyber3dVisor 3d1000 goggles. It came with the driver disk. And I installed it right off the bat....It said it would add a tab to the desktop properties, but it did not. So following the manual I went to wicked3d.com to download the latest EyeScream drivers for my headset. I went to update the drivers and selected Geforce2 GTS (It being my video card)...The drivers then told me I selected a 3dfx board (no...) and asked if I would like to update glide support (what's there to update? Nvidia has no glide) so I hit yes, because hitting no didn't work. I rebooted, ran the tests etc...I go to launch a game in openGL (it being the API I use for ALL of my games). I put the config file in my quake3 directory and launched it...It gave me a white screen, and I heard the sounds on the q3 main menu...But a rapidly flickering white screen. So I quit out blindly, and attempted another game...This time half life. And it gave me the following message. MiniGL: You do not have resolution override enabled, this resolution 1024x768x60 is not supported. You may experience unreadable text... Too bad MiniGL is voodoo cards only, and I own a Geforce...I was told that these goggles would work on virtually any game (little did they tell me only supported ones), and that it worked on OpenGL...WHICH I CANT EVEN SELECT...It'll only work on Glide...Which I dont have...And d3d...which is terrible. I'm suspecting it's trying to load my detonator drivers and the h3d drivers at the same time? If so...Can I correct this? I spent 80 freaking dollars and I want these to work... |

Wicked3D will be updated next month to include an OPENGL Driver that will allow you to play those OPEN GL games on the same games the MINIGL driver for 3Dfx board provides. You can look at the list of tested games at www.wicked3d.com and see which games worked well with your video card, but the gts works great with a lot of first person shooters, including Half Life type, Unreal, etc.. you cannot use the Quake 3 engined based stuff until the release of the new driver As per the install of 3DFX, there is no reason why that should happen.. I would suggest uninstalling everything and starting over very slowly and making sure you pick the right card: This is the correct process: Start computer in safe mode: get rid of all video card entries via system DEVICE MANAGER. Restart and install your newest detonator drivers and the exe. Install Direct x 7.,0a (YOU CANNOT USE 8. YOU CANNOT USE 8 ) it is a system component and CANNOT BE UNinSTALLED AS WELL .. DO NOT INSTALL IT!!!!!! Then, restart and install the newest eyescream. That should take care of everything.. I bought a bunch of the glasses from the xgaming guys (i think they make it, but the software is from wicked, the dongle is from I0 DISPLAY, I got game cd's from Xgaming.com, instructions from XGAMING.COM, and my receipt said Cybertronics on my credit card from the case I bought at Comdex. I called them (xgaming) and they are great for support, however I think wicked3d offers pretty limited support... Only via email. I've been using the eyescream 4.12 with my nvidia cards and there a ton of games you can use.. just email xgaming... support@xgaming.com or |
