"3DDV2X" = 3 Dimensional, Digital Video, Two Times The Horizontal Resolution, Synced To Better Than 120th Of A Second (@ 30fps)... [for example:1696 x 480, widescreen NTSC.] I think I've got all the bugs worked out, but I will make my next few video segments by following these instructions, and look for any additional errors... http://www.puppetkites.net/3DDV2X/ Since I am working with analog cams and capture, if anyone gets to go through this editing process starting with two DV camcorders before I do... and someone probably will, because my next upgrade will be a computer, not two DV camcorders :-), it would be helpful if you could tell me/us what, if any, changes are needed to the scripts or the process. I just found out, for example, that you can't frameserve step #8, for example, so these *little* things need to be noted. I can just see someone with two DV cams going crazy over trying to figure this out, so whoever is first, let's hear how you did it... please :-) I'm crossing my fingers that it will work with DV cams just like it is... or with only one or two tiny changes :-) Also, no doubt, there is "more than one way" to get the same results, and I'm not as interested in hearing about those (but that's okay, too :-) as I am in hearing about making the proper changes to my existing procedure and scripts for DV cam users. (Post to the group, please :-) P. K. Kid 3D Adventures Of The Puppet Kite Kid: (All G-Rated) http://www.PuppetKites.net |

Bingo! I think I finally have all the bugs worked out. Going by the latest set of corrected instructions (at http://www.puppetkites.net/3DDV2X/ ), I made this interlaced, parallel video of the "Train" part of a segment that I hope to call "Window Shopping". Here's a 112K screenshot of what you should be seeing: http://www.puppetkites.net/temp/trainPi_1642x432.jpg Here's a 3 second sample made for a dual video card output. The original captures were lossy, quality 7, analog captures from two analog camcorders to an obsolete 466Mhz Celeron (It's not the destination, it's the journey ;-). I can make 'em, but I can't watch 'em ;-) The only way I know to look at this on a computer monitor without outputting to a dual monitor (two widescreens would be the ultimate :-), is to use Sasami2k. http://sasami2k.new21.net/index2.html Set the aspect ratio to "Original" and you will be able to drag the entire 1648x432 MPEG from one side to the other to check out the actual resolution. People with dual monitors are on your own, as I've never done this. I kept all the settings at "DVD" quality, except the resolution and a lower audio bitrate. I assume you can load it in a DVD software player and use "fullscreen" mode. If you can, try using an aspect ratio setting of 16:4. Put it into loop mode. Use "force bob" to view it on a progressive display or "force weave" to see the interlace lines or view it on an interlaced display. I realize 3 seconds is _very_ short, but it still might be interesting to see. 3.98M http://www.puppetkites.net/temp/trainPi_1648x432.mpg P. K.
