Can anyone share their experiences with the different 2D->3D conversion software packages? 3D Plus? Gateway? Michal Hukak's player? Which one produces the most realistic effects? Which one can play DVDs? I need to know this to make a purchasing decision but I definitely cant afford three, or even two. Thanks Very much appreciated -C |

3Dplus 2.0 and X3D play DVD's. What is Gateway? Michal Husak's video player is for genuine 3D-movies and doesn't 'convert'. Better get some real, native 3D-DVD's, conversion doesn't really work. Christoph |

My old Winx3D player does not play DVD, it can play stero movies in several formats by HW page flipping in combination of Winx3D library ... But the movie must be stereoscopical ... Anothe example of a player with similar futures is 3D Combine ... My latest work (DepthQ player created for Lighspeed Design company, see www.depthq3d.com for details) can play stereoscopic DVD. It converts on the fly the interlaced stereoscopic DVD data to HW page flipping or any other stereo-output. The price of this code is now hi, I hope it will drop in the future ... A lot of projection on the latest stero-display conference was done by DepthQ code ... The movie must be stereoscopical again ... 3DPlus 2 can play directly any non-stereoscopic DVDand it is trying to make a 2D->3D conversion. The output is sync. doubled or interlaced pattern - no support for any form of HW page flipping ... I have tested the quality of 2D-3D conversion, O.K. I can say it is trying to do something ... I had studied this problematic a lot - the 2D -> 3D conversion can work only uder specific condition. No method producing acceptable result in general case exist ... |
