I just came across this site http://www.mds3d.com/movies/animated.php which has some 3D movies on it. I dont have the 3D glasses yet so I was just wondering can you watch these movies in 3D or are they just 2D showing you what they are like?

I checked two of the Quicktime movies on the website and they are 2D only. The stereo3d version is obviously only available on VHS and DVD.

Thanks for the interesting link, I have to add this title to the list.

I, too, downloaded and viewed two samples,
I was disapointed since the copy alluded to these being 3D. Now you will note that the company makes
a BIG point that GOOD stereo ( like theirs) uses
TWO cameras, yet unnamed sources have reported to me
that the videos are shot with a nu-view, and BADLY
at that! ( remember, this is only "alleged and
purported!")
I hope this is wrong and these are decent videos,
Do any of you have REAL experience with this company's product?
Curiously,
John Billingham

I purchased a 3D DVD from http://www.mds3d.com that supposedly contained several movie clips in 3D. At the time they stated that some DVD readers would not be compatible with the disk, they provided a list of compatible drives. I have not been able to find a reader capable of reading the disk sent to me, even when they are on the compatible list. There may be a fault with the way the disk was written. Since then they now state on their web page:

Both DVD and VHS are in NTSC format only! The DVD version is now supplied on a DVD silver disc. This disc will play on all players (and computer DVD-ROM drives) that have the DVD logo.

Hopefully this will solve the problem. I think I should get back in touch with them because I do not believe my disk has been properly written and they should offer a replacement.

Wow, you should get a refund. I've not heard of any DVDs failing on more than a handful of players, and certainly not failing on all BUT a handful of players. They must've done something real funky with it.

The VHS/DVD is in NTSC sequential stereo, we have seen the DVD-R version and have had no problems playing it on either a PC with 3D PowerDVD or a Sony DVD player, so Alan I suspect you have a faulty disk.

We will hopefully be stocking the Silver DVDs in the near future.

Alan if you would like to send me your disk we can have a look at it and replace it if necessary.

Plasma TV never work. They can't be used for 3D, because they use progressive display technology and don't preserve the interlaced (field) content of the DVD!

Peter:
Plasma display (not TV) work, but they must be driven directly from PC, not by TV signal ...
They can do HW page flipping up to 95 Hz...

Michael,
Wow this is a great offer regarding MDS disk considering I did not buy the disk from Imago3D. Having purchased other products from you and received considerate service, I would be happy to send you the disk for you to have a look at, as I do suspect the DVD-R is faulty and would like a third party opinion on that.

In Zeiten von massenhaft Websitenmüll im Internet eine sehr gut aufgebaute Website, nicht überdimensioniertes Design und sehr gut recher-schierte Hintergrundinformationen.
