If you had the chance in front of you to pick for FREE!!!! Which would you chose? 1. VFX3D it gives u tracking... 2. I-Glasses SVGA3D it gives you 800x600 3. Visette PRO it gives you a wide FOV.. I want to see what people are more interested in, because we all know what we want we can't afford... I know they vary in price and the Visette is like $3,000 for god know why! I didn't add the Sony's LDI-D100 cause I think everyone would take that one.....Not that Im offering, just wanted to ask for fun.. LOL Ku |

I would take FOV over resolution any day. |

I'd get the Visette PRO also, It has more then double the FOV of the I-Glasses SVGA3D, but its not half the resolution. And besides liking a higher FOV, I would take the Visette PRO for free and then later on before the new technology comes out, sell it for at least half of what its worth, and buy a better pair and probably make some money on the side . |

How is the 3D with the low res with this helmet? Anyone have any experience with it!! I know the FOV will seem more immersive but will the low res give you alittle headache, I mean our eye's have gotten use to the sharper images.. Like way back when doom was out it never bothered me, now if I play it I get a headache after awhile because of the pixels, Wierd maybe it's only me. It bothers me that the PRO has never droped it's price, not once, how is that? Wouldn't you drop the price to get rid of them? |

I probably gonna get flak because of this, but here we go. I would choose the VFX3D , a "VR helmet", has to have tracking, otherwise it's just a personal viewing device, IMHO ;) |

I personaly don't like "tracking" that most HMDs use, which is basicly a tilt sensor (like the ones used in pin ball machines). There is a number of other tracking sensors that do 6 DOF accurately but they are expensive right now. But having had a taste of what its like to have better tracking/motion-capture, the tilt sensors for me just are not enough, and I'd rather fork out the cash for a good motion capture device, or hack one together myself from midi controllers then to sacrifice FOV for a tilt sensor. But we all have our own experiences and opinions, if I had never tried motion capture and worked with it then I would probably be satisfied with the tilt sensor technology. |

I'd go with the Visette for shell design alone. |

I'd go with FOV. I was wondering is there anything inhibiting FOV size in hmd optics? 30 degrees or whatever isn't very immersive. What is our focused FOV normally? or what would be a decent size for a hmd? |

I have the iglasses, and the fov is 26. But you can probably double the iglasses fov either by replacing the optics or mirror. Also, you can probably make an external attachment. I used a 2x opera glasses, and it worked just fine [except for the very narrow fov] and I couldn't see any pixels at all. So either you can get some opera glasses with a very wide field of view [don't know of any] or you can build your own [going to try just that] edmund scientific is a good source for lenses. |
