Hi guys, I have the i-glasses svga 3d - the manuals say that I should set the resolution to 800 x 600 pixels. This works really good. When I am playing games - I find that the resolution looks even better at 1024 x 768. This resolution is no good for reading text - but good for games. Will I damage my headset if I constantly play games at 1024 x 768 resolution? Thanks John Moncards |

John, extensive viewing at 1024x768 will not damage your equipment. The native resolution is 800x600, so viewing at higher resolutions just "steps down" (reverse stretching) the image. I really don't see the benefit of viewing higher than the native resolution, seeing as the LCDs are designed at 800x600 pixels. However, if the image looks clearer to you for graphics... by all means, go for it! Respectfully, Eric D. Brown FrozenX Virtual Realities, LLC http://www.frozenx.com |

Hmmm....when I boot up with just iglasses attached and check settings, the bar indicates that i can set it to 1600 x 1200. But I think you need a 256 meg card for that. I previously had 32 meg card and could go as high as 1024 x 768 16 bit. my next card was 64 meg and could get the iglasses to use 1280 x 1024 16 bit for some games. As for the pixels? I used a low power 2x monoscope to examine one of the lcds and couldn't detect any pixels. I bet you could easily increase the fov by putting in more powerful lenses. |

Putting in a more powerful sense? Where did you do that? Where would you find something like that to try? Ku |

Again, it doesn't matter what resolution you display at ABOVE 800x600, as that is the native display resolution for the I-glasses. Yes, the image will appear smaller and appear that more is fitting on the screen, but you're still viewing at 800x600 (only the image is stepped down or "reversed stretched"). You're not going to get any clearity or "picture improvement" by setting the resolution about 800x600. Also, 1600x1200 @ 24-bit & 32-bit can be displayed on a 128MB adapter. Windows bases the viewing information on data from both the display adapter / drivers / and device connected (monitor, hmd, etc). About putting in other lenses in the I-glasses. Doing this will first of all void any warranty (if you still have one). Also, high profile LCDs used in HMDs are very costly. It's probably not worth trying to purchase them seperate and try to assemble them within' the I-glasses unit. FOV also has alot more to do with just the LCDs used, but also the frames that they are mounted in. I don't think the I-glasses could get much more of a FOV range based on it's small sized frames. It's easier, and probably more affordable, just to purchase a better set of HMDs. Respectfully, Eric D. Brown http://www.frozenx.com |

i have got already those hmd. but i sold it @ ebay with a lot of money lost. in my opinion the quali suxxx! when you look into the hmd and your eye will move a litle bit, you see all rgb colors with a high frequenzy flickering. high refreshrates can`t fix that. that effect makes me total (negativ) crazy. dom |

'Also, 1600x1200 @ 24-bit & 32-bit can be displayed on a 128MB adapter.' which cards would you suggest? 'About putting in other lenses in the I-glasses. Doing this will first of all void any warranty (if you still have one).' lol no need to get hyper, i was refering to the optics, not the lcds. Iglasses store DOES sell replacement parts, you know. Now, I think there are a couple of shutter glasses that can be used with hmds. Ever see those stadium binoculars that you wear like a pair of glasses? Well, they are like those..one was called 'vrsurfer' I think. 'It's easier, and probably more affordable, just to purchase a better set of HMDs.' Which ones are those? The x-viewer? Hasn't come out yet. |

Well, you don't have to do the replacement yourself, you can send it back and let them do the upgrade. Now as for a quickfix, I think there are some shutter-glasses that can be used with hmds. I think those would be the kind that also magnify. Also, there is stuff like this that can help:http://www.ffbk.com/ |

save cpu power and play @ 800x600. thats the true resolution of this hmd. dirk Sure, it may be the true resolution but sometimes the higher resolution is a req. Also, is it really 800 x 600 resolution? In gameplay, the visuals are as sharp and crisp as my monitor set at 1024 x 768 . My regular monitor set at 800 x 600 shows jagged edges, and so does the i-glasses set at 1024 x 768 or higher. From what i've seen, i-glasses seems to have virtual 1024 x 768. |
