Hi, First time poster, so please excuse my ignorance. I was wondering if there was a free download/Trail version of any software available that converts 2D mpegs/avi movie clips in stereoscopic or anaglyph 3D? If so where could I download such software. I can only assume that no such program exists but I am intrigued to find out. The reason I ask is that I was wondering if there was any way to convert movies that were originally shot in 3D that turn up on DVD, VHS etc in 2D? Any help would be excellent. Many thanks in advance. |

If you want to convert a movie from 2D to 3D it does not matter if it was originally shot in 3D. If you have access to the 3D version, then use it, else you will not benefit from the fact that a 3D version exists. Personally, I think 2D to 3D conversion is crap. You never get a real 3D effect out of a 2D movie. It only works for some scenes with a very special kind of movement in it. Some commerial software promise to be able to do 2D->3D conversion, but believe me, you won't be very pleased. My recommendation: Watch 2D movies in 2D and 3D movies in 3D. |
