I have no idea why I am demonstrating "excessive flicker", but at
least this will show how bad it can be, and give the opportunity for
comparing it to a PAL-60 viewing... actually this is the video that I
*fixed* for NTSC TV, so the flicker can get worse than this :-)
Here's the PAL-50 MPEG 2 for SVCD of the "Statue Man Time Lapse". I
don't have this linked to my web pages, so you have to download it from
here. Right click and "save target as":
(7.7 MB file size.)

I'm hoping I have the aspect ratio correct for TV, but at least you
can still see the 3D affect and the flicker, even if the aspect ratio
isn't right :-)
Burn it to a rewritable SVCD for standard PAL, if you don't want to
waste a CD. You can open it in Stereoscopic Player on a PC to see what
it should look like without the flicker. Follow the directions on the
instruction page:
http://www.puppetkites.net/FSanaglyphsHowTo.htm (Be sure to uncheck
"Keep aspect ratio", then drag it to where it "looks correct".)
PAL-50 TV viewing should look the same as far as the 3D effect is
concerned. This should probably be called, "The Excessive Flicker Show"
when played from a DVD Player to a PAL-50 TV, but at least the 3D effect
should be *perfect*. Wear red-blue glasses, not cyan, if possible. You
can *attempt* to reduce the flicker by decreasing the brightness and
contrast, but my prediction is that the image will get way too dark
before the flicker will decrease to an acceptable level.
Also, this is not a good demo of "interpolated motion blur" from my
method of converting the frame rate to 25fps, as the time lapse makes it
appear "jumpy", anyway.
So, use this one to experience flicker on a PAL-50 TV ;-)
I guess I should go ahead and convert the "Big Fish", too, as that
might better demonstrate the "interpolated motion blur".

And here's the "Big Fish, Small Pond" clip, MPEG 2 for SVCD for PAL-50 TV.
Did you all over there in the U.K. see a television show back in the 60's about a dolphin named "Flipper"? It was here in the USA. Probably not... anyway, I'll rename this version of this video, "Flicker" ;-)

Right click on this link and "save target as"...
7.5 MB.

Also, keep in mind that this was shot with a couple of cheap analog camcorders, and this re-edit is from my old MPEG's! I didn't save the originals as uncompressed files... :-) So, this is very "low res" stuff, although the 3D effect will not suffer because of that, and it will still demonstrate everything we want to know :-)
The conversion to 25fps is pretty smooth, huh! Well, okay, then... so that's a real slow fish ;-)
