I remember someone telling how to do this for shutterglasses... probably a year ago or more, and I never figured out how to get it to work until today :-) Fullscreen viewing of field sequential 3D... it works for both shutterglasses viewing of standard field sequential 3D video on a CRT and field sequential anaglyphs on a CRT and LCD monitor. For standard media players like Windows Media Player or Real One, I have to temporarily disable my system's hardware acceleration and play them only at 100% or a 640x480 video (or a video for SVCD or DVD) at "fullscreen" with my display set to 640x480. I must have never tried to disable my system's hardware acceleration in the proper way, because I never did get this to work right... On my PC with XP, I disable my system's hardware acceleration by right clicking on the desktop, then going to "Properties" > "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Troubleshoot", and moving the slider to "None". I usually leave the "Troubleshoot" window open in the background (or minimized by clicking on "Show Desktop") while I'm viewing a video, then move the slider back over to "Full" when I'm finished. I set my PC display to 640x480 by right clicking on the desktop, then going to "Properties" > "Settings" > "Advanced" > "Adapter" > "List All Modes", and selecting "640x480, True Color (32 bit) 85 Hertz". (Use "60 Hertz" for an LCD screen.) This also works really well for field sequential anaglyph videos played with Stereoscopic Player or StereoMovie Player as "Color Anaglyphs", but in that case you don't have to disable your system's hardware acceleration. This information has also been added to my web pages. -- P. K. Kid Stereoscopic 3D video clips for TV or computer: (Non-commercial, G-Rated) http://www.PuppetKites.net |

I just discovered that StereoMovie Player has to be set to 16 bit :-) All others seem to be working at 32 bit. HTH, PKK |

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much, I've been adictied to stereo scopic development and technology for about 1/2 year now and am in the process of makeing a fully 3D site (Im studying to become a visual engineer so web sites are my speciality) but a few weeks ago I purchesed a 3D dvd from IMAX and wasn't satisfied with the 3d effect that I got with my shutter glasses, I tryed everything and asked everyone for help, Little did I know that the problem could be solved by such a small things as turning of the hardware excelleration. Well I'm happy that i found your post. I reuntly visited your site, I could restyle it for you, If you wish ;) |

Erm... glad I could help :-) Restyling my site would probably be possible, but keeping it in style would be a big problem ;-) It's 2004. Shouldn't We Be Communicating in 3D? Send me a 3D video message: http://www.puppetkites.net/3Dmessages/index.htm PKK |
