I'm using Rhino-3d Cad software. I would like to see the end result of my drawings as stereo-3d. But I don't think it is possible within that program. So, I need a program that can load a cad drawing (almost any format) and show it in full-screen OpenGL graphics-mode. That would let me use my stereo-3d shutter glasses to see it in stereo. Anyone know of something like that? Thanks for any info..................Sam |

I have tried dozens of programs now. Almost every one said "Full Screen". But what all of them meant is full screen OpenGL inside a windowed screen. They are NOT full screen OpenGL graphics-mode. The search continues.... |

Would a Quadro or a GeFarce hacked to Quadro work here? |

Do you want something to load your CAD file and render it as a 3D object using OpenGL or do you have a stereoscopic file that you simply wish to view with Quadbuffered stereoscopic OpenGL? If the latter, 3DCombine can do it, www.3dcombine.com. If it's the former I can't help. |

Anything that can read the model and display it properly will do. Doesn't have to be OpenGL at all. If the file format is freely available then any good game programmer should be able to write a viewer for it. |

Here is a program I wrote to view 3ds (3DMax, 3D-Studio, whatever they are - Most Cad programs will save this type) files in full-screen graphics-mode in DirectX: Source in Visual Basic 6: http://home.comcast.net/~kr4495/fsgm/FSGM_Source.zip Executable - Windows Installer: http://home.comcast.net/~kr4495/fsgm/Project1.msi With that you can view in stereo-3d if you have Nvidia graphics card or probably Edimensional drivers, ethier one. I like the page flipping Nvidia drivers myself. The program has no stereo code of it's own. A viewer MUST be in DirectX OR OpenGL full-screen graphics-mode for most stereo-3d drivers to work. We are not viewing simple pictures but instead complex models that are being rendered on-the-fly. Just like a game. Windowed-mode doesn't work, which is why I wrote the above program. Note: It will install as Project1. Just rename it to anything you wish. |

Suggestion: transfer the model to VRML. Use Personal Space Assitant from TGS with ahve stereo OpenGL capabilites (you will need Wildcat, Quadro or crack some GeForce to Quadro) |
