I don't remember how I found the website, but I did. Downloads......that's sound interesting, so I download it. I intalled it and of course, I always try to trigger stereoscopic display. It works. Let's see.....a very simple little game, but I found myself keep playing and playing. 3D Curveball is the name, it is like squash, you are in a elongated "cube" hitting the ball with a seethrough paddle. Several variations, such as hitting just against the wall, which "flips pictures" and if you get all the parts of the picture, you get to the next level. Than there is imaginary computer opponent, like in tennis, with tennis scoring (no net however). Pleasent background music and sounds. Several other variations. It is really a simple game, but I found it attractive, especially in steroscopic 3d. It required some minor modification, since the game was written NOT stereoscopic display in mind, so along with the ball, a frame is going back and forth, as a point of reference to those who don't have stereoscopic display. I wrote to the company, and they immediately responded by sending a small file to replace which got rid of the moving frame. I also asked them whether they know that this game is good in stereoscopic 3d, it appears that they didn't. So, I asked them to write a short write-up, because I would like to post it here, and so they did. Here it is: ======================= Recently a new game "3D Curveball" was released: http://www.terminalstudio.com/curveball.shtml It allows playing in true 3D with LCD stereoglass as in virtual reality. This is a set of modernized 3D pong style games combining the best features of squash and tennis. The game space is a cubic room. You defend your side of the cube and the computer defends the opposite side. The racket lets you skew and curve your shots. ======================== Stereoscopic fans, it's a relatively small download (7.5 Meg), it has some minor limitations until you pay...I think it is $19.95 to register it, it's worth trying it out. I like it. (Also, I found that it is very easy to swap the pictures, the sounds, everything, for example in 15 minutes I changed the "flipping pictures when you hit the wall" mode with my own pictures. Neat.) This game really makes more sense in stereo than in mono. Did you use the nVidia driver? Were you able to get the score-board on the right to zero parallax. I can't get rid of out-of-screen effects. This game should not have out-of-screen effects. Doesn't make sense here and can cause eyestrain. Anyway, a great little game to showcase how stereo can give you higher scores.
