I have a V3 2000 video card, but from what I've read, the only drivers that work with it use some kind of interlacing video mode that both slows down the machine *AND* looks poorer compared to the TNT/GeForce cards. Is the 3DFX/Wicked3D drivers really inferiour to the Elsa Revelator/TNT drivers? Would my 3D experance be alot better if I junked my cherished 3DFX card and used something more D3D orinented. Mind you, most of the games I play, (Unreal and Unreal Tournament) play the best in Glide, so I would be giving up QUITE alot! | ||

I use a Voodoo3/3000 pci card and the i-art 4in1 system with the Wicked3D eyescream driver/software. my computer is a 550Mhz AMD K6-2+ IBM slug. or Aptiva if you prefer. I don't notice any appreciative frame rate degradation using this setup. there is some resolution loss but I run all of my games at 1152x864 or above so it's not that noticeable. UASF@1600x1024, WWIIF@1600x1200, CFS@1280x1024, StarFleet2@1600x1024, HalfLife@1152x864 PorcheUnleashed@1600x1200 without other cars 1280x1024 with. RougeSquad@1280x1024...get the idea? everything runs smooth. I'm stuck with a pci for the now but I'm well pleased with the performance I'm getting. If you have an AGP motherboard then your options are pretty much open, if your like me and don't have an agp then get the voodoo5/5500pci while you still can. Its a kick ass board if you have the extra watts and room for it. God I hate this Fuc*in' machine. Hope that helps , John John | ||

Your only other option for a pci board is the AnnihilatorII MX. I had one for a week, last week. What a pig. best 3dmark2000 score with it was 1044. Boy I'm going to miss 3Dfx. John |
