HMD, projector and shutterglass and so on. Which is the best and most immersive if the money doesn´t matter? Anyone have answers to that? |

shutterglasses hooked up to a Sony WEGA 32 inch flat screen standard ntsc tv is pretty good for stereoscopic content( i have a NuView and shoot a lot of 3d video with it) i recently got a Benslens, now Ben never made the BensLens for video ,but my son made adjustments to it to shoot anaglyph video. it looks amazing when shown on a Sony 23 lnch LCDWEGA HDTV with an image inhancement chip. it also looks super when my anaglyph 3d footage is shown on a PLASMA screen like a Samsung 50 inch HDTV. 3d projectors, which are quite impresive. like Christys 3d system are very expensive $25,000+ |

Well if money didn't matter then I'd say a HMD, like a SEOS ultra wide filed of view.. Say 120 FOV , it cost 70,000 so if no money is a problem.. I'd get that... Ku |

Yes Cry, he asked for an immersive system, money doesn't matter.. What you wouldn't take that FOV and Res for an immersive system, I don't think you can get any better then that except maybe a kick ass CAVE system totally surrounding you.. It is funny because I don't know who would buy that for home use unless your RICH and crazy like us... Ku |

No i dont have anymore my virtua track. It really anoying to wear, cause of the wire. And i found that shutter glasses is REALLY better than HMD. Sorry for the seller of this technologies. they are great people who have dream and i hope they continue to do what they are doing. Now i am with an ATI 9800 Pro and the driver from ED work in a way, but in my way it s far from the way ! lol. So i will change it when Nvidia 6800 Ultra is out. i m planing to buy a projector too. The Benq 6200. But i m afraid scince my I-glasses buy lol. I m not sure the shutter glasses will work. NoT sure the picture will be close to my HDTV too. But i want bigger for Half life 2 and doom3. i m also repaint my basement only to have the best experience of my life. It s my birth gift to me. So here it s my adventure. I have spend so many money, But i think it s going to worth it! ( for a crazy like me ). |

It seems that projector and shutterglasses is the best alternative for virtual reality. HMD is not immersive until it reaches the most expensive ones? |

Stewart What solution are we talking about, two projectors or one that is capable of 3D? I guess the latter is very expensive. |

Ok. What about the Hz? Would you recommend this projector. What glasses do you use? |

I agree, Moneywise the X1 works fine. Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination- but pretty darn good. I use X3d glasses and X1 projector. I get some blue ghosting during bright contrast- but it is minimal. Hz is 60 but it does not flicker. I tried at higher Hz and it was out of sync. Can't wait till someone makes a cheap totaly immersive product! |

So this X1 is it "The One" to pick if one would buy a projector for stereo use, and still have little money left or are there others? When it comes to 3D are DLP better than LCD? Lars, check pricerunner.se and you will find it. |

Correct me, but the X1 only work with red and blue glasses and not shutter glasses. So it s why u can play it at 60hz. I also remember that my eyes was still seeing red and blue after Spy Kid. So after a game session ooooooo i will see the world red and blue forever !. i m confuse, i see that your X3D is shutter glasses. It s not flicking that much ? humm not sure. anyway i will have my own BenQ 6200 to test soon. |

X1 works with shuterglasses, but only at 60 Hz. Hard to watch from hi flickering reasons ... |

It must be something about the DLP technology. Looking at the screen, without shutter glasses, when stereo is enabled there is a VERY noticeable flicker. If you leave the glasses turned off and put them on, the flicker disapears. Without the glasses even being turned on. Turn'm on and it rivals viewing at 100Hz refresh. You can loose the blue ghosting using the projector settings that I listed in a previous post. 4:3 aspect ratio. (not native) Video mode. Phase=68 red=71 green=71 blue=35 contrast=45 brightness=42 You should go into your registry and change your screen size. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\MonitorSize. Just change the decimal value to twice your monitor size. I have a 123" screen so my string looks like this. MonitorSize REG_DWORD 0x000000f6 (246) Make sure you change decimal not hexidecimal. Have fun. John |

Is the X1 you using only a 1 projector setup to get 3D? Or are you using 2. Do you still need a silver type screen mat? |

I'm not anonymous I'm John I used to have a user name but forgot it after not visiting the forum for about six months. A time during which I moved (new service provider) and reformatted my hard drive (lost alot of my "stuff"). Didn't see a need to re-up as I sig all my posts. I'm using one projector with a flat bright white painted wall with a black border. I will be switching to a light-duty seamless canvas tarp (bought from Lowe's for $19.95)stretched and mounted on a birchwood frame (Lowe's again $20) with a 2" black velveteen border. I'll first paint it with my flat white and may then paint it Behr Silverscreen. I've heard alot of good reviews on the Behr paint and want to give it a try. The screen is the next project for my theater but may take a while due to my 20 or 30 other projects I have going right now. I figure a month from now I'll have it done. This is a very workable solution for me as a second projector is not in the budget in the forseeable future. Too much other stuff takes precedence. This will work fine till an affordable (sub $1000)high res (1024x768), large FOV (>60)HMD with head tracking hits the market. Could be awhile. John |
