I am building my home 3D stero theater ... Just now I am not sure witch is the optimal screen size ... Viewing distance will be about 4 meters ... I was experimenting with 2x1.6 screen size, but it looks to big to be handled by 1800 ANSI projektor setup ... It looks O.K. only with 2500 ANSI or brighter setup. I use hi quality screen material with peak gain about 2 ... For active stereo projection witch I use the 2500 ansi give de facto only 650 ANSI ... I would like to experiment with smaler screen (1.5x1.5 or 1.25x1.25) ... Can you give me comemnts of projections setup working O.K. for you (ANSI, screen size, vieweing distance) ? |

Who is the supplier of your silver screen? I am looking for a high quality screen too. For my project I need to buy 20 x 2.3 meter and I want to cut it myself into several screens. Since silver screen manufacturers give up producing such materials, any hint would be very helpful. thanks, Sam |

We used the German "SilverFabric" M.H. mentions for our Siggraph exhibit last week and were very happy with it. It is much tougher and blemish-resistant than the Stuart ones we've tried. Pohrmann and Atwater were extremely helpful in getting it to us in a very tight timeframe and, even with the shipping from Europe, it was 30% less than the Stuart one. |
