For my project I need to buy 20 x 2.3 meter and I want to cut it myself into several screens. I have already tried all ideas like silver coated materials for bathrooms, etc.pp. and also painted a wooden board with silver paint. This is all shitty and definitely worth to spend the time. So I have requested samples from several manufactures but I nothing arrives here since about 3 month. Rumors says, that many silver screen manufacturers gave up producing such materials. Any hint would be very helpful. Which manufacturer/supplier is really able to deliver such screen material? Thanks, Sam | ||

Funny thing - you will be probably not able to cut the material correctly yourself. It need special big vaccum cutting table. I was faced with the same problem. | ||

M.H., 1. this is not true for all cases! You only need an exact cut on a vacuum table if you want to use the material with rollable systems. Than each wrong millimeter can cause folds on the screen. But if you plan to span your screens, e.g. with eyelets and snaps, the exact cut is not needed. Only the eyelts must be well done. As a rule of thumb, better take more small eyletes than a few big once. If you follow me you will get a very plain surface with any folds. 2. Most companies that supply screen materials are able to cut the screen into any size and have the tools and experience to do that fast and correct. Mostly, the cut is not expensive and you save your nerves. Anonymus #2, my suggestion is, that you don't cut it yourself and ask the company to do that for you and directly let them eyeleter the material for you. Believe me, cutting silver screens is no fun at all and eyeletering is art work. To save money, look that manufacturer packs all screen into one package if you don't need eyelets. If you need eyelets each screen should have it's own tube for transportation. Otherwise the eyelets will damage the screen. I hope I could help that way | ||
