Does is matter if I use Win XP Home Edition or XP Pro for gaming? Is one better than the other?

As far as I remember, Home has a very limited number of simultaneous video outputs -- I don''t remember if it's one or two.

These days dual-head cards are practically the norm and I have seen people running one dual-head AGP plus a single-head PCI for a total of three video outputs. So you might ask yourself if you might ever want three simultaneous video outputs (two monitors plus a tv for WMP, perhaps?).

Other than that, I can't think of any reason Home would be worse than Pro.

According Hoeme versus Pro. As long as you do not want to use dual CPU it will be O.K. (Home suppors only one CPU).

Other than the dual CPU issue M.H. spoke of, the only real difference between Home and Professional addition is a few options Pro has for server administration. Either plays games just fine. Personally, I prefer Pro, as it seems to be more stable, and a tad bit quicker than Home. Could just be me, though!
