Does is matter if I use Win XP Home Edition or XP Pro for gaming? Is one better than the other? |

As far as I remember, Home has a very limited number of simultaneous video outputs -- I don''t remember if it's one or two. These days dual-head cards are practically the norm and I have seen people running one dual-head AGP plus a single-head PCI for a total of three video outputs. So you might ask yourself if you might ever want three simultaneous video outputs (two monitors plus a tv for WMP, perhaps?). Other than that, I can't think of any reason Home would be worse than Pro. |

According Hoeme versus Pro. As long as you do not want to use dual CPU it will be O.K. (Home suppors only one CPU). |

Other than the dual CPU issue M.H. spoke of, the only real difference between Home and Professional addition is a few options Pro has for server administration. Either plays games just fine. Personally, I prefer Pro, as it seems to be more stable, and a tad bit quicker than Home. Could just be me, though! |
