Hi

I've ever wanted to know what does one see in the VFX1 or other low-resolution immersive (320x240 and under) HMDs. Is the image pixelated ? blurred ?

And by the way, how do i know if a HMD is immersive or not ?

Thanks for your answers!

When the fov is more then 45° (diagonal) the picture gets immersive. Bigger fov more immersive..

Well put it this way, I've tried the over price Visette Pro that is suppose to have better Res then the VFX1 and VFX3d and with 71 diagonal and playing like quake was ok but you couldn't really read anything like health or score ect...

There are two types of HMD people. Those who will scarifice FOV for resolution and those who will scarifice resolution for FOV. So you'll get arguments from both sides. It all depends on the application.
Of course we all would like both FOV and resolution but it doesn't exist for the consumer market.

Thanks for your comments! I think i'll buy shutter glasses :p maybe the iart3d. i'd like to develop a game which use these shutterglasses, they seem to be the most simple, cheap and compatible here (and always available...)

Buy the shutterglasses. I went the HMD route myself (wasted money buying I-Glasses)... trust me, the shutterglasses ROCK!...

Ho by the way, i don't know if somebody has already noticed, but the VNM shutterglasses that are the best in the top10 doesn't seem to be on VNM website anymore (since it's unavailable) but here: http://www.softpixel.co.kr/eng/products3.htm

Maybe you could update the links :) I wrote them a mail a few days ago, i hope to get answer soon.
