Hi! I downloaded some parallel 3d movies from 3D Adventures Of The Puppet Kite Kid and got them to work in 3d when i played them in the 3dCombine program. But when i combine one of my own movies so it looks just like the other 3d movies i don't get any 3d effect at all when i play it in 3DCombine's player. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong please? Thanks in advance. |

We can't possibly answer your question without more information. How were your "own movies" recorded? What stereo format did you employ? Did you use a pair of cameras? A Nu-View adapter? |

I didn't record the movies myself. I used the combine function in the Combine3D program to combine movies like terminator 2, ghost ship etc. I followed ths guide: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/shabaz.ali/3D.htm So if anyone knows what codec i should save the combined movies in please tell me. |

I forgot to tell, the stereoformats i've tried is: parallel and crossed eye. If it helps i have the Edimensional 3d glasses. |

Do not loose a time, just download Stereoscopic Player (Peter Wimmer) - http://mitglied.lycos.de/stereo3d/ …. And real 3d stereo movie ("BastardVega: The gold of Hanz Hagen" - Michel Husak's stereo movie (over/under)) - http://www.really.ru/download_4.html#stereo_movies1 …and enjoy |

Sorry but that will not give you 3D. You can not get real 3-D from film that was shot with one camera (well it is possible, but not easily and not as described on that web page). Don't waste your time and get frustrated by trying to make flat films look 3D. There are true stereoscopic films and videos. |

I have tried Stereoscopic Video player but haven't had any luck at all. I didn't get any 3d effect at all even from the 3d movies that i have seen in 3d in the player that comes with Combine3d. And im pretty sure that it's possible to get 3d effect out of movies shot with one camera since i seen posts about this before. But it must be something im doing wrong since i don't get it to work. |

Hi Phosedy, what exactly was the problem when trying Stereoscopic Player? Where the left and right image blended together or did you just see a monoscopic image? What viewing method did you use? Stereoscopic Player is not able to convert 2D->3D, although you can select 'Monoscopic' input in File->Layout. No 2D-3D conversion is done, the monoscopic video is just shown using a stereoscopicx viewing method. I integrated the monoscopic input so that it is possible to include monoscopic files in stereoscopic presentations without taking off the 3d-glasses. |

The problem is that the left and the right image doesn't blend together. But when i used the player in Combine3d the images blended together and when i put the 3d glasses on i got the 3d effect. But as i said before, this only worked on the movies i downloaded from the Puppet Kite Kid. |

Look at this page, again: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/shabaz.ali/3D.htm This does not intend to create a stereoscopic image, and that is stated in the introduction: "...I have discovered a very interesting way to convert a normal monitor to a massive screen using 3D-Glasses. You make any video file to a double image with a certain separation. When viewed with 3d glasses, the image seems to be very deep inside the monitor, giving the effect that there is a massive screen there." All this does is move the depth of the flat 2D image forward or back, creating the illusion that that flat 2D image is out in front of the monitor screen or back behind it. For true stereoscopic imagery, you need a left perspective and a right perspective view, just like we have with our eyes in the real world. Don't confuse the mentioned method with a "2D to 3D conversion". That is different, and it does produce a stereoscopic image. That requires additional steps, like shifting one video ahead one frame (or field) in relation to the movement. No 2D to 3D converter that I have seen is perfect, however, and you always end up with strange motion artifacts and image distortions. PKK |

EASY! input a copy of your video as "right" AND "left" into Masuji Suto's "StereoMovieMaker" move the horizontal arrow keys to make the image "In" or "Out" of the screen as your heart desires. It's not MY place to judge why you would want this effect! Best Wishes, John Billingham |
