Hi, so i read that the Infocus X1/X2 works with active stereo. I also want to buy a projector for active stereo gaming, but also for watching movies. If i compare the reviews between the Infocus X1/X2 and the BenQ 6100/6200, the BenQ has a much better video quality. (see http://www.projectorcentral.com/benq_pb6100_pb6200.htm) So, my question is: Has anybody tried to get the BenQ working with active stereo? Thanx, Fouad |

I have the Benq 6100. So far all I've tried is watching 3D movies using razor3d's 3d viewing system, connected to the projector with an RCA cable. This doesn't work. I don't have a VGA connector for my 3D glasses so I haven't been able to try 3D games or movies using my PC yet. A lot of people have asked about Benq projectors here and nobody has ever replied, so I doubt they work. |

I have the X1 DVD quality is superb. The X1 has the Faroudja DCDi "video processing, which handles de-interlacing chores when fed a video signal. The use of a sophisticated video processing engine has been the purview of products well north of $2,000 until now" I have no complaints and got mine for less than £500... Unclebob |

I checked out the BenQ projectors. While the specs are similar to the X1 you need to take into account that the bulb life in normal mode (1500 lumens) is only 2000 hours. In whisper mode (1100 lumens) it's 3000 hours. The X1 is 4000 hours in it's single mode of 1100 lumens. Plus as Bob touched on the X1 has the Faroudja DCDi chip which is THE best processing chip. The only thing the X1 doesn't have is the native YPbPr (HDTV)inputs. You have to use the component to VGA adapter that Infocus sells. You might want to take a look here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/index.php?s=25281b03470473010af5c18ee54a1035 Check the sub$3500 forum. Hope this helps. John |

Is there a way to bypass the DCDi chip to retain the integrity of interlaced video? |

Hi, i was comparing the X2 with the BenQ 6100, but the X1 i much better in video, compared to the X2. This is because of the Faroudja chip. I read some reviews that the X2 is nothing more then a striped down X1. So i think i'm going to buy a Infocus X1. I hope we can find a fix for the croped picture in stereo. Thanx, Fouad |

Fouad it seems that the slight blue ghosting at 800*600 can be minimised by Johns method of adjusting colour etc. As for the cropped image. You can move that from top left to centre by: Set screen res to 1024 in the driver panel. Set the X1 to 6:4 This will 'scale' the screen to 800*600. Then in the nivida driver you can 'move' the screen down and to the right - this leaves a black boarder along the top and left. Set this to the maximum and save for this resolution. Set the resolution back to 800*600 in the driver panel. Set the X1 back to Native mode. Go to the stereo controls and enable by hot key, then go to the Test Application and set it for 60Hz at 1024. The Nvidia eye should now be centred and floatintg well out of the screen in the middle of your living room. Now when I play games I play at 1024 with the projector set to 6:4. When I want Stereo, I enable by hot keys and switch the X1 to native. Hope this helps Unclebob |

Fouad someone has reported getting an X2 to work perfectly. Game is set to run at 1024 at 75hz and then the X2 set to 6:4 Will try tonight as well. Unclebob |
