they arent simple plastic, (unless your asking exactly what teh polymer substrate is, in which case i dont know) www.americanpaperoptics.com. try there for a reasonable source. Regards Clyde |

Plyvinyl alcohol impregnated by iodine or idoquinine sulphate (older method) More details on this link: http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Polaroid |

polyvinyl alcohol is one substance, not two :-( . It is the polyvinyl polymer chaing with OH group added. |

Thanks everybody for guiding me. But still i dont know how they cut 45/135 degree? and any grey colour material can be used for 3d viewing? |

Raj: I expect they achive orientation of the iodine doped polyvinil-alcohol polymer chains in a specific direction in an mechanical way. Probably some sort of the directional polymer foil pulling. And the foil than starts to polarize in this direction becouse the polymer chains are oriented paralel in this direction. Only light perpendicular to the polymet chain orientation pass through (I have PhD in chemistry,so maybe my thoughs are correct) For stereo viewing you must use only this material, not "any gray colour material" . |

Raj: If you want to manufacture the galsses in large quantity, you can probably byu the foil in large shees cheap. But I thingt he prices at www.americanpaperoptics.com are not so high ... My company can you eventualy send you individual glasses (we bu from Americanpaperoptics in large quantities and resel) ... |
