HELP me please !!!
I just got IO i-glasses X2 Tracked for PC on ebay. After setting everything up, I can't get color in the display correct.

I found out that the "PCI-Box" that came with it isn't compattible with the X2 version of the i-glasses. Is there a way to modify / hack the PCI Box to make it work?

The built in display adjustment is in color, but no changes have an effect on the displayed windows desktop.
THe displayed images are in grey scale and pretty fuzzy as well. I set the grafics driver to 640 X 320, 60 hz refresh. It doesn't work with 70 hz. colors are set to 256, 16 bit or 32 bit, always the same result. according to the handbook, I should run 16 colors in 640 x 320 (that sucks!), but also according to the handbook, the display is capable of at least 16 bit color depth. maybe when the printed the handbook (sometime mid-last century), the grafic cards didn't do any better?
Anyway, my monitor is connected to the PC interface box, and displays the screen in beautiful color, so I know it's not a monitor cable issue. I checked the other connectors, and they seem to be fine. My grafic card driver doesn't support 16 colors under 640 x 320 resolution (who would want that?).

If I connect the glasses to my TV, I get a great color picture, so I know they work properly.

I have a AMD 1.4 ghz, Nvidia Geforce 3 Ti 200 grafic card and windows xp sp 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I hope this is not the case (maybe someone who knows more about i-glasses than me can confirm or deny it), but I think you've been duped. This review...
http://www.epinions.com/elec-review-71CE-6258D5C-39148BA2-prod3
...describes the i-glassesd X2 as a device that can only be connected to the TV. Looking for "i-glasses x2" "pci box" on Google returned no results.

Does your video card support video out? You would probably get better resolution and color depth, if you simply use video out. This pc interface box sounds like it is a scan converter that doesn't support the resolution and color depth you are trying to use with it.

if your video card doesn't support video out, then you would have to purchase a new scan converter, just search froogle for scan converter :

http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=scan+converter&hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tab=wf&scoring=p

It looks as though for a scan converter that will convert 640x480 at 60hz with what ever color depth you want, costs about $30.

I'm sure there are other scan converts that do higher resolutions, but given that your HMD only has 450 lines, higher resolutions will not work quite right.

Hi,
thanks for the help so far!
I really appreciate it.

I haven't tried attaching the X2 to the video out yet, since I am missing a cable and haven't had the time. But I want to try it, I do have an s-video out.
But I am not sure if I can get 3D that way, probably not.

The box is also for the head tracker, I heard it sould work for that, but am not sure.

I've gotten 3d through composite-out of my nvidia video card. I used shutter glasses and the flicker was anoying, but with an HMD there shouldn't be any flicker problem.
