Can somebody explain me what are standard formats for 3D images shot with a digital camera and some 3D adapter? I guess it can not be normal JPEG or GIF.

Thre exist de-facto only one standard - JPS.
It is a normal JPEG with right view on the left and left view on the right side. Side by side,
double width in compariosn to normal 2D image.

But you must usualy convert your data to this format - adapter can giove you something ottaly diferent (in dependence on its principe).
