I'm trying to eliminate the 3:2 pulldown on a 3-D DVD. I've tried doing this in Virtualdub but the outcome still does not allow frames to sync when converted to above/below format so playback still produces an undesired 3-D effect. Is there any script or filter that would allow me to delete every 5th frame in Virtualdub? Thanks.

Maybe Uwe Freese's "Time-based Deinterlace" filter.

Or try an AVISynth script.

Cool.. thanks for the tip. I've never used avisynth scripts though. Any tips on writing one for this purpose? I'd be able to use it with virtualdub right?

As AVISynth is batch/commandline, it's nowhere as easy to work with as Vdub (I use it sparingly myself for that reason), but go to avisynth.org, doom9.org, or videohelp.com and there are a number of guides to get you started.

Yes, it can be used to frameserve to Vdub, or you can always save to an intermediate file to be opened by Vdub.

Good luck

Thanks for the tips but I found a more user friendly approach. I sifted through scenes and removed left eye frames that were tucked into the right eye track. There are about 5 or 6 on each side of the VHD discs. Seems these frames were throwing off the inverse telecine process so once they were gone there was no problem. Now the movies playback in over/under format in Stereoscopic Player with no odd 3-D pulfrich effects but I'm having trouble now getting playback from 23fps to 29 and audio sync but gradually getting there. Thanks.
