I'm looking for a stereo interactive player supporting shutterglasses working in interlaced mode.
Something like R4D (by Brightland) but with shutterglasses support instead of anaglyph support.
I thought about interlaced mode because I'm in a NT enviroment (SGI 320NT cannot load WIN95/98) and I cannot find drivers for shutterglasses.
DDD sells shutterglasses with no software need that turs your monitor to interlaced mode ... but where can I find a player???
Or maybe can I find drivers switching any OpenGL application to stereo?
Thanks,
Giorgio Bogoni

I checked them out but the only interactive player I've found is 3D SPACE ASSISTANT by TGS and the rendering quality (reflection, bumping, transparacy, animation ...) is far less than r4D.
Any way to turn to interlaced stereo-mode r4D ?(is an open GL application - no way to turn on some generic OpenGL stereo command ?)

There is not generic OpenGl command for
interlaced stereo. If you have acces to the aplication code, the interlaced output could be quickly and easy implementd ...
Under Win 9X you can use
Scitech Gldirect and stereo wrapers. To use
interlaced under NT is a not a good idea,
becouse your machine support HW page flipped OpenGL stereo. Only the new NT SGI machines based on Nvidia chipset do not support OpenGl stereo :(.
I have discuised the stereo support with the Brightland people and they promised HW page flippg OpenGL support in next version of R4D.
You shuld ask them ...
By the way, what do you want to show ?
VRML works or something specific ?

Hi Michal,
happy to hear you again.
I was thinking about showing 3D models.
I like the way R4D render and I was trying to make it work in a stero mode different from anaglyph.
I've already asked John about a different kind of stereo support, he told me it would be to slow to render and suggest me to write here.
It would be nice even an above-below stero format for R4D (as soon as I'll succeed I'll write to you and explain you what I'm thinking about ...).
Thanks for answers,
Giorgio.
