I will want to install 50' X3D plasma screens in a art gallery. There is much light in the gallery. However I read in several post that X3D plasma have a weak luminosity because of the barrier of parallax compared to the lenticular screens (alioscopy, synthagram...) What it will be the best solution to have a good brightness in 50' X3D plasma screens? |

lol. its not dead.. they just have a renaming fetish! To answer yr question chad, The X3D 50 inch display does have a reflection problem, but can be overcome effectively by postioning it at a height (2 meters)and aimed slightly downward at the floor. (hopefully it isnt a shining marble floor), if it is then you should consider placing a canopy above the screen and tiliting the screen upward. I know... a bit cumbersome, but this is teh current limitations in autostereoscopic technology. The Stereographics screen uses lenticular panel, so yes you wont get that reflection problem, but the max screen sizes they now have are 30 inches lcd. So if its a public display like a museum and you want the best "depth" and "outof screen" effect then x3d is the way to go. It does out perform any screen on the market currently. The brightness really isnt so much of an issue, and i have even played back regular dvd content on the screens with no brightness problems. Ofcourse if your going to have very brightlights around the screen it would look dull as would any other regular plasma/lcd screen. reading your situation above, I would suggest making a canopy above screen and using that to your advantage to hilight the purpose of using the screen (maybe its displaying 3d stereo versions of famous paintings that shouldnt be tocuhed? or old stone-age pots filmed via pulfrich techniques?) in this way you can keep related physical objects and text on notice boards etc. to create an "environment" around the display. good luck on your project, Regards Clyde |

Thank you Clyde. Just for your information, Alioscopy have 40 inches LCD 3D screen and another campany in france www.artisticimages.fr have 50 inches lenticular 3D plasma screen based Pioneer as they said me in e mail. I does not want to mislead me on the choice of the screen. Moreover It will be necessary to put side by side a screen of X3D and another of the competitor to see the difference. But it will be impossible. It is true that the luminosity of the screens parralax based is divided by 9? It should be known that I will want to invest in 4 screens. Considering the price, I does not have to mislead me. Clyde, there is sites with photographs or clip of the screens X3D in real activity, or maybe forum specialised in X3D screen users ? thank you very much Clyde Chad |
