I recently acquired a VFX1. Apparently it has stereoscopic support for some games such as Descent and Magic Carpet. However I have not been able to get this to work. Does anybody know how to make them work in stereoscopic mode? |

You are not giving us much information. Have you installed the VIP card and got the software installed? Have you run the diagnostics utility? Search all the help available at www.iisvr.com. You can also get alot of info here by searching the old message archives with the keyword VFX1. If you still have more specific questions... post back here. -VRJUNKIE |

I'm sorry. Yes, I have installed the VIP card, installed the software, gotten the headtracking and cyberpuck all set-up and working, and it even runs quite a few games. Just none in stereo format. Are these games supposed to automatically go into stereo mode or do I have to do something to make them work? I have read all help I could find on the IIS home page. Oh, by the way, I do not have the bonus software CD (I do but it is scratched and can't be read) if it might make a difference. Thanks. |

Eric, Here is some information to get you going - hopefully. The VFX1 doesn't just display apps in stereo automatically (like shutterglasses do). Each game has its own setup or patch to get full support (especially stereo). Settings to look for in games are VR settings (Cybermax, LCDbios, etc.), by enabeling these - when present, you can sometimes get stereo support from the game itself. I have included some links in this message I think you will find useful. I don't know why but most of the pages I list at IIS can't be located by simply browsing there - Luckily I have saved links to those old pages that are still on their server. I can tell you as a long time VFX1 user myself the best VFX1 experiences are Quake 1, Descent 2, and Comanche 3. Get these working first! On the bonus CD.. Contact IIS and see if they still have any Bonus CDs. They should exchange it. If they will not, or are out of stock... you can send me your broken one (to prove you own it) cover my duplication costs (the CD and shipping) and I'll burn and send you one!
