We had big problems with virtual realities, a company reselling virtual reality equipment situated in Texas. You be very carefull. They misrepresent their products, give bad info on their site, dont want to exchange products and let you stuck with the merchandise after they get pay. The reseller we talked to was very disrespectfull as soon as we began to have a problem with the merchandise. Do not buy from them if you dont want to end up like us... Alprazolam |

Hello All, As an addendum to this message, VRealities is not an Authorized Reseller for IIS and our products are not available through their web site. For sales of any IIS products in, please contact us directly and we will point you to a Authorized reseller in your area. Thanks, Steve |

We take great pride at in our products and service and regret that we are not able to please everyone all the time. It is true we no longer sell the VFX3D but we do have many other VR Headsets to offer at very fair prices. It is sad to see such an informative message board being used as a slash/slander tool. I guess we should consider the source. - Virtual Realities |

To follow up with Steve with IIS: You know as well as we do that we decided not sell your product (VFX3D) any longer. Do you want me to go into detail? I think not. - Virtual Realities |

Virtual Realities, Some free advice: You regret that this site is allegedly being used as a slander tool - and then proceed to do just that against IIS! And you further refer to a customer as "consider the source"! Another derogatory reference! Childish retorts speak volumes..... A list of verifiable happy customers is the best way to instill buyer confidence - not slamming them publicly! -VRJUNKIE |

Personaly, I think it would be more appropriate for the individuals at Virtual Realities to help out their disgruntled client rather than get into it with the folks at IIS. If V.R. wanted to prove to the users of this forum that they are all about customer satisfaction, they should have been the FIRST to reply to the initial post in this thread. In this user's opinion, The posts by Virtual Realities so far only serve to verify the opinions and statements of the other users. BTW: if you are all about servicing your customers, and you're buisness is so great, why did he post such a message in the first place? -Eric L. |

Hello, The point being is that with any service business you will have from time to time a disgruntled customer, no matter what you do to resolve the issue. This will happen with any Company like it or not. We do our best to please and be as informative as possible. We know who posted the first message and both we and i-o display agree that he is not right and way out of line. We have hundreds of happy customers and a very good reputation with our suppliers and our customers. We have been and will continue to be one of the Best VR Distributors in the US. In response to virtual realities about us not being right : We made all possible efforts to try and solve our differences, but when it becomes obvious that the other party does not want to work with us (hangs up the phone in your face yelling, many times...) no communication is possible anymore. We never lost our temper and stayed cool throughout the negotiation but virtual realities didn't return the courtesy. We are in contact now with i-o display system (they seem a little more sympathetic to our cause)and they are looking to resolve our problem, the same problem virtual realities should have delt with in the first place. This is no slashing and dicing, just sharing what we experienced dealing with virtual realities. |

Hello Eric in Canada, We did not treat you this way Eric and you know it. You sent us a verbally abusive e-mail and we replied by telling you we will not deal in this manner and if you contined to act this way we would no longer be of service. We also told you we would exchange the part you are having problems with at our cost and you reply by posting slanderous messages? I see you have lived up to your threats. We again, like our last e-mail said and the message we left on your answering machine, are ready to resolve this by exhanging the part in question, all you have to do is call. Regards, - Virtual Realities |

Hi There, I'm sorry to heard that the some misunderstand from Alprazolam with Virtual Realities, because our position is same as Virtual Realites company. I thought, the service contact window is very important for users, because users need to contact right person to get right informations. I think, both need to calm to think about how to solve this matter, if continue to wrangle this matter, both will get nothing. Sorry for my said. For honestly say, the users just want to get good service only, they wouldn't get more questions. It's not difficult to solve it, just need to make a quickly service decision only. how do you think? Virtual Realities . Sorry for my opinions Kenny |

We at CyberWorld, Inc. also distribute VR products and have been doing so since 1995. We are unbiased and only carry quality products. We are honest about performance and have no bad issues with any clients or manufacturers. My opinion is to shop around, look are price/service and ask as many questions as you can before purchase. Although we are based in Canada we too distribute primarily in USA and worldwide. Anyone who has any questions or would like unbias opinions please feel free to email me. stewart@cwonline.com |

Hi, all. A bit of third party perspective-- no bias. Everyone is right and everyone is wrong. I've worked with the public in sales and it's not easy...really you can't please everyone. For example someone upset about a problem in their life is going to give you a hard time regardless of your service. Also, you soon learn that people expect many different things from a company-- hard to predict any one individuals expectations. Add to that that a few of the customers are trying to rip off co.s. On the other hand in business unless you strongly suspect you are being ripped off there is only one answer acceptable to the client: "you're right, we're wrong, how can we fix it?" Regardless of the truth. It is very important, because the storekeeper who is rude or even "right" and loses a $3 sale, actually loses a lot more-- perhaps thousands of dollars that would have been spent by the now disgruntled customer over time. "Offer the pebble to catch the chicken, Grasshopper." In fact I think the most fun part of selling something is the act-- to transcend your emotions and focus on moving widgets out the door. Love thy customer! (Or at least pretend to.) Also, this forum is not a place for this, especially without the facts-- it amounts to rumors and gossip-- for both parties. Let's focus on tech stuff. |

Another perspective: this is GREAT! If VR was dead this wouldn't be an issue. It's sad but unhappy customers are evidence of customers for vr and the accused company is evidence of companies selling vr. We should all be happy! |

Hello Everyone Goodness what a rowdy discussion indeed! The position of any company and I speak from experience should be the customer is right, without customers what business would any of us have. For many of our customers at 3-Qubed stereo3d is a new frontier and we handle those customers with special care we actually teach them what to expect and not to expect this avoids alot of problems. What I see here is what I call justified anger on both sides. Gentleman the angry parties have already lost. How can you solve a problem or take care of an issue if your angry. I'm sure some of you have heard of the Hatfields and McCoys, those two families have been fighting each other for generations, and both sides can't remember why the fighting started in the first place. I agree most heartedly that this forum is not meant to be a an area to promote gossip or runors. Isn't this supposed to be an area for technical help and settling technical issues. Personality clashes really do not have a place here. What does have a place here is constructive criticism and technical troubleshooting discussions. So lets carry on, afterall our industry is a creative industry and an imaginative industry so lets try to make this forum a postive one to help others new to our field learn from others experiences. |

Okay, I believe this thread can still be of benifit to those technicaly inclined. It's a good opportunity to educate people, so submoitted for your approval: ====== How to Find a good Hardware Dealer ========= +++++++++++++ A mini-article by +++++++++++++++++ =================== Eric L. ================== We should all look at this thread as a valuable lesson: Cavaet Emptor (translation: "Let the buyer beware!") I learned this lesson the hard way, dealing with companies when purchasing gameboy programming hardware a few years back. A local company screwed me, but a manufacturer/dealer in Hong Kong hookled me up so I could write my software and runi it on actual Gameboy hardware. Not what I expected, but it was a life experience for me. Which brings me to my point: Many people don't know how to select a dealer that suits them, so, here's some advice. Mail order companies or online sales are great, just remember, corresponding with the seller takes more time than it would to do the same with a actual store-based dealer. Be patient. Still, it's a good idea to check out a company before you order. Check their website. Does it look professional. Is their e-commerce buggy, or is their certificate expired? Look in the forums, and get recomendations. See if their other clients are happy. Use common sense, and you can tell if they are good to do buisness with. Also, see if they have a print catalog too. Other things to watch for: is their asking price for an item rediculously low? If it seems too good to be true, you're probably right. Always confirm prices with a phone call, and make sure they have the item in stock. They do have a phone number, Right? If you don't see a phone number, address and e-mail on their site, it's probably for a reason (e.g. they don't like to communicate). If there's no Phone number provided on the dealer's site, I suggest you find a different one. If a dealer offers free shipping, this usually means the company is large, ans ships a lot of merchandise, which is a sign of a good company. Others include: Testimonials -can be faked, but usually a good sign, especially if they are mentioned on other sites. several payment options -always a good sign. sales support page -happy customers are made here. Good sites have these, fly-by-nights don't Lastly: Always pay with a credit card. Checks take longer, can be altered, and can get lost in the mail. Paying with plastic also protects the buyer, because a botched order can be remedied quickly by the credit card company. All my purchase problems at work have been resolved by the credit card company (or bank). And if you hate the interest from the credit card, do what I do, use a Check card; works like plastic, but it just pulls money from my checking account! Use some common sense, and a little digging, and all your transactions will go smooth as silk! |

It is kind of funny that even Steve@IIS doesn't even want VRealties carrying their product. Yet Vrealities list IIS product VFX3D and ancient VFX1 on the Vrealities site at very high pricing. Most of the product on VRealities site is junk or very old. And based on the various complaints and their poor attitude I would wonder why anyone would purchase from such a company? My .02cents |

Hello Rob, To set the record straight for one last time, we are the ones who decided not to carry the VF3D, at one time, but plans are in the mix between Companies. Our products are not junk and certainly not old. One "anonymous" complaint, not various and again, you cannot please everyone all of the time, we try our best, that is the best any Company can do. It is companies like Vrealities that give VR a bad name. The fact that they are not honest about performace, no return policy, and all that junk that Rob mentioned really hurts the VR image with new people getting into VR. Nice to have forums like this to bring facts to light. |

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, a troll is "a dwarf or giant in Scandinavian folklore inhabiting caves or hills." It also has the verb form meanings: 1 : to move around : RAMBLE 2 : to fish by trailing a lure or baited hook from a moving boat 3 : to sing or play in a jovial manner 4 : to speak rapidly The internet troll is essentially an amalgam of all these meanings. Someone who arrives uninvited to online chat rooms, BBs and news groups posting frequently and furiously about anything and everything but never really has anything constructive to say. Quite often the internet troll will try to change meaningful topics off course or start massive flame wars. Not unlike the trolls of Scandinavian folklore, the best response to online trolls is to leave them alone (ignore them). Sorry for the dissertation, but the topic of "what is a troll" comes up often enough that I thought i'd take a little more time to answer the question properly. Have a nice day. PS--Don't feed the troll! |
