Hi there, nice to find there's a forum like this one. I'm starting to practice with 3D studio max, which means I suck and I was wondering if anybody knows a 3D over/under plugin, I believe it must be a stereo cam set and a render, that works with 3D studio max? I just want to render single images, not animations and I tried with a set of freeware cams, I don't remember the name, but I just couldn't appreciate any sense of depth. Now I don't know if there's actually a plugin for this or maybe a tutorial on how to mount your cameras and then join the images on a software like anaglyph maker, which is the one I know, I don't know if it's anygood. Well thanks in advance! |

I'm not much into 3D max - but if it's possible to have 2 cameras in the scene (If you can have 2 cameras just place them together and group them) just make use of that. Another trick that works well in Vue 6 Infinite (and maybe in 3d max) is to create the camera path, render the animation and then just move the whole path a little bit to the right (So your first render is left eye, second render is right eye). |

Hi ! There is a 3DS max plugin called XidMary (freeware) that make you place a special camera that can render a left or right view. It also include a videopost filter to merge left/right picture in anglyph or side/side. Make a search on the web, download, read the doc. It works fine as you can use and 'automatic' separation, depending on the distance between the camera and the target point (you can give an percentage of the distance). A must have for making stereo pictures in 3DS max. It will synchronize the focal, angle and position of the 2 cameras, and use the 'main' camera (in the center) for composing. Cheers. |

Copy the files in the 3DSmax plugins directory. Restart 3DS Max , and you can go to create / camera / special camera Regards, Olivier; |
