Interesting that this drivers work in stereo even on my Oxygen GVX1 (tested with Unreal and 3D MARK 2001) ... IIS shuld try to sell the stereoscopic wrapers separatly from the VFX3D for LCD glasses usage ... |

So you mean that they can be used with a few 3D glasses without any tracker? What 3dcards/glasses would work? |

I did not try to use them without VFX3D. If they do not check the VFX3D presense , they probably could be used. It is equivalent to VrCaddy interlaced ... Any LCD glasses with line-blanking unit could be used - VrJoy, Iart Eye3D 4-1 .Graphic card withch can swith to interlaced could be used with any glasses. The existing drivers version unfortunately automaticaly switch to 640x480 resolution (higer res. does not have sense for VFX3D) You will get all the trouble conected with interlaced mode when you will use LCD instead of VFX3D - 1/2 resolution, low brightnes .... |

is it just me or does the tracking seem better with the new drivers? |

Of course they are better! We are always improving, not perfect yet, but getting better. Or maybe it is just you. Steve |

The drivers won't work with other headsets, the way the drivers work is completely different then VRcaddy. The end result of course is the same, stereo 3d. Something you can try, which you may find interesting is that you can use 3rd party drivers with the VFX3D. I don't know if any of you know that the VFX3D will also support page-flipping along with line seq. This is great because you don't have to sync page flipping the same way as you do line seq. This means that the VFX3D will do stereo 3D with out downing the computers resolution to 640X480. Using VRCaddy I have played games left at 1024X768, page flipping and they still display correctly in the HMD. Yes the HMD will down the resolution to display on the LCD's, but you end up with a cleaner image. It takes a little playing with but it works rather well. To end this I would like to give a plug out to IIS. I have called the company a few times with questions and I always get an answer and usually more. Steve and Brian are fun to talk to and for the most part they now what they are talking about, well Brian does anyways,.There support has been great. |

Stinky: the VFX3D conversion to stereo must work in the same way as VrCaddy - it catch the the D3D cals, modify the viewport matrix, render twice and creates interlaced pattern. Do you know any other way ? The latest VFX3D drivers could do that even for situation when VrCaddy crashes ... I thing that support for HW page flipping will be more an disadvantage than advantage. HW page flipping is much more HW dependent than the interlaced pattern creation. HW page flipping does not have sense for existing HMD becouse the resolution of the HMD corrsponds to the resolution of the interlaced output pattern + and it is much more complicated to sync to HW page flipping than to interlaced pattern (I do not know why do you thing that it is oposite). What have sense is support for third party HW page flipping drivers in the VFX3D HW - it is supported yet. VFX3D can sync not only to interlaced pattern , but to HW page flipped as well (testi in up to 1024x768 res). This future will make e.g. using the new Nvidia stereoscopic drivers for VF3D possible ... now |

Now the download page says the driver doesn't work under WinME. Has the ME capable driver been removed? Or does it work with ME despite the statement on the download page? Alex |

they still work, it is just not supported by IIS. I called and asked about it. The install is a pain in the ass becuase WinME has so much protection crap running in the background, but it will work. I guess like many other companies IIS feels that ME is crap. |
