I tried using the eye3d glasses with the planar lcd monitors. these monitors have the fastest pixel response of all LCD flat panels (10 ms). The glasses would not work due to the fact that 1. either the flat panel could not handle the left and right images because the 2 frames were different 2. or more likely that the pass through does not like planar monitors. I could get a left and right image, but the way they refreshed was not handled properly. If you would like me to descrive more, post. I could see absolutely no ghosting in regular play though. A big +++!! but at least the SGI 1600sw could handle the pass through. So for now, LCDs r terrible for 3d glasses. I will try elsa revelators later, maybe i will have better luck. |

This is one thing i wondered about- i am using a fairly inexpensive 19" monitor (Mag xj 810), does support 120 or 140hz at 1024x768. I get so much ghosting there isn't much of a point, and i wasn't sure if it is the monitor (phosphores glow too long??) or the glasses... Sounds like that answers it though..? |
