Hello! I am new to 3D and want to rush right out and buy some shutter glasses. The problem is I don't know how I get my home stereo pairs of camera images page flipped to do that? Don't I need software? Is the software smart enough to know that I have two *jpg images, and it will flip between them? Thanks for your help!

A newbie

if u buy a pair of glasses supported by Nvidia's streo driver and a compaitable graphics card,
u'll be able to use the built in the drivers utility to view your images...
before that though u'll probably have to convert them to stereo .jps file - which means just put them side by side in a graphics editing software such as "paint shop pro" and save as .jps

hope this helped

The 3D Pix image editor, available at www.win3d.com, can combine a stereoscopic pair of .JPG images into a single .JPS file.

Since 3D Pix is built upon WINx3D, it is not necessary to use an nVidia card. It will work with about all cards, and about all stereoscopic gear.

Hi everyone!

I don't feel very smart today. it looks as if my thank you note to both of you that helped
disappeared into Cyber oblivion. I don't know why. I sure want to thank both of you.

I tried installing Winx3D without much success. I have a SiS 530 video board and according to Winx3D it probably does not support
interlacing. I wasn't sure if that tossed my board out for good, but the program seem to indicate it self configured and something should happen. Only it didn't. I can't find the executable to kick it off and no icon on my desktop. Do I have to go to another video board?

Thanks for all your help and I am sorry you didn't know of my gratitude sooner!

Hi Anon,

We have the SiS 530 listed as a supported chipset, so I am assuming that your chipset should work. Make sure that you did the following:
Download both the WINx3D runtime files for Windows 98 - this is w3drt.zip - and for 3D Pix - this is pixinste.zip.
Expand w3drt.zip into a temp directory.
Run Setup.Exe
Do step 1, to install the files from the temp directory. This will also install a WINx3D icon on your control panel.
Press the DirectDraw Test button.
If that works, expand the 3D Pix files into another temp directory.
Run the Setup.Exe.
Install the components needed. This will create entries in your Start/Programs menu.
Run 3D Pix eval from the Start/Programs menu.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me directly - davidq@win3d.com

You are right that interlacing is not supported on the SiS530, but page-flipping is supported. 3D Pix can display the images in page-flipped format, so you should be able to see your images.
