Another question... will the ASUS glasses work with Geforce 2? Or is it a speciall verision i need, cause on many pages it stands that its for 3400tnttv and 3800tnt2 pure only? Anybody out there who has got the same Graphics card as me and the ASUS glasses.. does it work good? |

The 7700 should support 3D-glasses. There's already a deluxe version of the 7700 with glasses-connector. You can test the 3D-glasses-modes without owning the glasses. The board and driver can't 'sense' the presence of the glasses. Go to 'Advanced' in the ASUS setup and activate stereo-mode. You should get a flickering double-image in D3D and OpenGL programs. You don't need the original ASUS glasses. Certain 3rd party glasses, like i-Art Eye3D, VR-Standard VR-Joy, Tetratel EyeFX, NuVision 60GX, Another World Another Eye's and others will support the ASUS board and driver. The only drawback of the 3rd party glasses is that you have to control stereo-orientation manually over a button. (If stereo-orientation is selected wrong the left eye sees the right image and vice versa.) Christoph |

I have tested my monitor and it handles 100Hz only in 800*600 or less. Is it worth going down in resolution for the 3D effect?. I will probobly buy a new monitor in about a year anyway. So, CHris, do you think it would be better to buy some other glasses than ASUS? Even with the upgrade kit its half the price of, for exaple the Revelator. And to everybody who has ASUS glasses... ARE THEY ANY GOOD? or should i look for 3d party glasses. And please someone give me a link to a page where i can buy the ASUS upgrade kit. I cant find it anywere. (only found just the glasses, but they are for the delux verision of my ASUS Geforce2). (Excuse me for all my pleases and things like that... Im so into this right now so i just HAVE to know!!! (ups.. did it again there)) |

And one more thing... will the Revelator glasses work with The ASUS 7700 Geforce 2? Any problems? WIch other glasses will work with the ASUS Graphic card?? ANd a thing about the ASUS glasses... As i have previosly said, my monitors highest refreshrate is 100. On some pages It stands that ill need 120 to use the ASUS glasses, and on some it stands 100. Someone who acctually owns the glasses who can tell me how it really is? THe revelator handels refreshrates from 50-140.. is that true? Maybe that is a better buy for me? |

Since you already own an ASUS board you should stay with the original ASUS drivers. The Revelator doesn't work with the ASUS drivers. Therefore you should stay away from the Revelator. The ASUS glasses are O.K. They are wired and have large panels. ASUS supports 100 Hz or even less in page-flipping mode. Christoph |

Good! Now i just have to find a place to buy them... Only found one site which sells the Upgrade kit and not only the glasses... And its in Australia! (I live in sweden!). It can be a bit of trouble if something doesnt work, if I have to send it back to Australia. Do you know a place to buy them (the upgrade kit) in Europ (the best place would be in swede´n, but i dont think you know a place here). I have looked at at least 20 stores all over the world... So if you find a place, tell me! Is page-flipping mode good? what is the difference between the modes? |

https://www.asuscom.de/shop/ has them for about 53,- EURO. Taking the price into account you may look for a more flexible product, like the Eye3D or VR-Joy which start at about $50. There's currently a $50 offer on the Eye3D in this forum. Christoph |

I can get my VRimage viewer to display a flickering 3D image. But i cant get it to work in any game! I dont know if the glasses will work on my computer! And do u mean i should by Eye3D or VR-joy instead of the ASUS? And i dont speak any german so i cant navigate around the German site. And i think your wrong about refresh rate. In VRpicture viewer i cant use the "3D mode" if I have a refreshrate under 100. And in games I cant get it to work even on 100? What should I do. Cant use 120. |

Another thing... This is from the Eye3D (4in1) review... "Monitor used for testing: 86 kHz horizontal, 160 Hz vertical" Where can i see that on my computer. Is it refresh rate? If can make my monitor to use 100, Is it the same thing? PLease explain. Do the Eye3D support refreshrate under 100 (and are u absolutly sure, i dont want to buy glasses that dont work with my monitor!!!) Thanx again for your help! |

Hi. I write message as an anonymous person, becous I was working for several LCD-glasses producing companines and they will be not happy listtening to my opinion. I was able to test VrJoy, EyeFX, H3D, Nuvison 60GX with SNR unit and Iart Eye3D 4-1 (latest version, manual switching of all modes by one button). The winner is Iart Eye3D. The 4 modes in 1, the comfort, the possibility to change the eye orientation on the glasses, proper work win big SGI monitor at 70/140Hz .... that it what rules .... |

Tobias, from a purely functional point of view, the glasses will *work* with any monitor. What I mean is you will be able to see a 3D image at any refresh rate, but below 120, and certainly below 100 there will be a noticeable flicker that will cause you eyestrain, and discomfort to the point where you will want to either stop using the glasses very much, or get a new monitor to use them with. As a general rule of thumb, take your horizontal rate (you said 86Khz) and divide it by the vertical resolution you are using (for example if your screen is 800X600, the vertical resolution would be 600) then divide this again by 1.06..this is the theoretical maximum refresh rate your monitor can provide in the mode selected. Doing the math on your monitor would yield this: (86,000/600)/1.06=135Hz. Which is very good for 3D viewing! |

That wasnt my monitor! it was just from a rewiev, and i used it just as an exaple. where can i find out that information on my own monitor? I think the best refreshrate in 1024*768 is 75hz and in 800*600 is it 100hz. Do you think i could use monitor with 3d glasses in 800*600 then? And will the glasses work with any resolution... I mean, i tried to activate 3d mode with my asus drivers and they woulndt activate if i hadnt a refreshrate of 100hz! What does a new 17" monitor cost, wich handels refreshrates to around 120 in 1024*768?? |
