Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the IR transmitter for the VRSurfer (on its own). I've tried: Vrex (no reply) Sell-3D Ebay so far without success. Thanks, Jeremy |

I have purchased a replacement VRSurfer transmitter in the past direct from VREX. Try calling them direct if you do not get a reply by email. I found them very helpfull on the phone and they shipped the item to UK no problem. |

I have the VR Surfer glasses and I have have a a very bulky and heavy dual beam Oscilloscope a Techtronix valve model at home. I do not usaully use the VR Surfer these days, I use the H3D glasses instead. I could have a go at looking at the IR signal from these, if you can give me some pointers as to what to do. I would guess that I would need to open up the sender dongle and find the signal going to the IR LED, is that correct? |

Alan, that's exactly what I would do (and have done to several other devices). If the sender box is easy to open, a scan of its electronic guts would be a perfect extra. Just don't feel obliged to damage the box, if it's only to do me the favour. A dual-beam is perfect to have the V-Sync (one of the lines coming in from the VGA dongle, I'd guess) as reference. I'd try to look at the scope's screen through the flickering glasses, in order to get a hint of the different signals for left and right picture. |
