Please help! I spent 12 months trying to work out how to use my cyber3Dvisor LCD glasses to view stereo images (not games). They work in the wicked3d test page (using properties when I right click on my screen), but that's the only time they work. I can see them flickering when I view the test page, but when I try to view images using H3D view, the LCDs don't actually flicker. I've tried viewing all sorts of images from the web, and several different sorts of software without success. It seems as though the glasses aren't turning on, except in the wicked#D test page. How can I activate the glasses so that I can view 3d images. I read the 3d in a nutshell page, but it didn't tell me what software will work with the cyber3Dvisor. I also saw a post from Jan 2001 where someone had exactly the same problem. I've tried the makers, I've tried Wicked3d, they all say they only know about games and can't help me with viewing 3d pictures. I'm about ready to throw them away! All I want to be able to do is take my own 3d pictures and view them, plus view those of others. I'm prepared to throw these away and buy something else if I could be sure it would work, and came complete with all the software I need. The fact the wicked3D test page works proves the glasses, monitor, video card etc are working. I've got an AMD 1.4, 512MB ram, GeForce MX200 with 64MB on board. How do I get these glasses to work with 3d pictures? What sort of pictures do they view (interlaced,under/over)? I don't know much about this stuff. If I can get the glasses to work, what's the best software to start generating my own pictures from my stereo pairs? Regards, Steve |

How does the controller look like? Can you please take a picture/scan of it? Does it have any buttons? What does the label say which model this is? Christoph |

I think that there are at least two models of the Cyber3DVisor. One that uses color codes, and one that does not. We have the one that does not, in the lab at the Win3D company. Does anyone know what color codes to use to activate and deactivate the Cyber3DVisor's? We'll make the WINx3D driver once we find out. Does anyone know if there is a minimum refresh rate for them to activate? The original H3D's required >= 85 Hz, or no activation. |

It's working, but it looks like I've got some serious driver problems. OK. I reinstalled winx3d and 3dpix. I have the cyber3dvisor model 3d1000. I can get the shutters to work by selecting H3D classic (over/under) as the stereoscopic device. I can also view a picture in 3dpix editor. What a fantastic product. I'll be registering as soon as I can sort out this driver problem. So, here's the problem(s). When I view a picture in 3dpix, everything works fine, but as soon as I exit (via esc, right-mouse click or alt) the screen flashes blank and the application terminates. If I try to restart it, I get a "this program has performed an illegal operation" message. After this,I can't start the winx3d program from the settings/control panel/ either. Sometimes, the video goes unstable. If I do a restart without powering off the pc, it remains unstable, even when it's displaying the bios details on startup. The only way to recover the video is to do a power off. I've also noticed that Internet Explorer keep failing with an illegal operation message since I installed the winx3d and 3dpix. I've got a GeForce2 mx200 card with 64mb. Can anyone suggest a step by step process to remove the winx3d stuff, get my video working properly, and then install it again. Aside from my IE dying every couple of minutes, it's a drag having to reboot after every single image I view. And thanks again to the winx3d guys for getting me this far. |

Some things that may help you out: The 3D Pix, from Nuvision Technologies, includes a file from Microsoft MSVCRT42.DLL. There are various versions of this file floating around - some incompatible with others. If you installed this file when 3D Pix was installed, this can explain why your browser is broken. You will probably need to reinstall your browser. (I vaguely think that the 3D Pix installer makes backup copies of the files, so scan your hard drive for MSVC*.*, and see if it looks like any backups are made.) This may solve all of the problems. I know that if you use the standard MSVCRT*.* files that come with Explorer, then 3D Pix will be fine. You can remove WINx3D by running the setup.exe that is in C:\program files\win3d\drivers\win3d. But, you should not need to do this, as no WINx3D drivers are ever loaded, until a WINx3D application loads them. I'll have the lab do some research on the setup you describe, to see if we can reproduce the crash. |
