Hey. I know next to nothing about current VR technology, but I'm currently in the process of programming a game that I think would be perfect to serve as the sort of 'Pong' of VR. (If anyone cares, they can check out the beta at http://www.junglelogic.net/creation). Anyway, I'm looking for a simple glasses set or something that takes a video signal in (that I can send to directly without needing to rely on a graphics card to do the stereoscopic adjustment automatically), has head-movement tracking, and preferably a wide angle of viewing. My budget is very limited, so the cheaper, the better. If anyone has thoughts, I'd love to hear it. Thanks! |

Good Luck, As your field of view goes up the price sky rockets. I-glasses would be your best bet. -Kevin |

I don't know the prices of used VFX1s, but that might be an option. It has head tracking as far as I know. With proper head tracking, one can live with a narrower field of view (not that I know how the FOV on VFX1 compares to that of I-glasses). I'm not sure what you mean by "not relying on the graphics card to do the stereoscopic adjustment". Where should the stereo information come from if not from the graphics card and drivers? Would you have the game itself display side-by-side stereo? Btw, I tried to play the game, but it seemed that I needed someone to play with. Is there a single player option? Or do I have to recruit another player? ... it would help people understand the concept of your "VR Pong", if the 2D game can be tried out. Alex |

Yep... making an AI's been pretty tricky for me, so for now you need at least one other player. If nothing else, I'm usually on. Both the 2D modes and 3D modes are functional (although the latter's still kind of buggy.) |
