What monitors do you folks use / recommend that can handle the high refresh rates needed for 3d-gaming, especially when doing page-flipping? Are there 19'' / 21'' monitors that can handle 3d stereo gaming well? |

Luckily most CRT-monitors today have enough 'horsepower' for stereo-applications. Anything beyond 85kHz horizontal and 120Hz vertical frequency is acceptable. This would allow 800x600-120Hz or 1024x768-100Hz. Most newer 19-22" monitors can do more (up to 140kHz/200Hz). Iiyama monitors usually do crazy frequencies for a moderate price. Other issues are nVidia/ELSA-Revelator trigger compliance and residue-time (ghosting). I can't give any recommendations here. I don't have a list of incompatible monitors. Concerning the ghosting issue it seems that all manufacturers use basically the same 'phosphor'-formula, so unfortunately there's not much difference. Christoph |
