i am getting crazy... I have WinXP, Elsa GForce2MX, Elsa Revelator glasses IR and Cable (yes, 2 of them). I installed nVidia drivers 23.10 and 23.11 (and Elsa ones!) plus Stereo extension. I follow the TweakGforce utility and Nvidia Refresh rate fix solutiion (without reinstalling XP!). For test purposes, I used the Fishtank screensaver demo. No luck. -IR ones: they didnt flick even. Tomorrow I will test batteries. -Cable ones: -the medical test didnt work. It start synchronizing but after a sec or 2, they lost sync. -Fishtank: the glasses didnt sync. Oh, one time I did get it working, but after ESC and running again, no luck. -The keybinds didnt work at all. I can press CTRL-T for all my life and 3D dint start or stop. |

First of all, DO NOT REINSTALL XP unless you know your system is corrupt and you have to. It shouldn't hurt anything, but it simply isn't necessary to install it again. Make sure, you disable DDC functionality from your monitor, (if it has such functions) since these functions can interfer with communications between your video card and the glasses. Also, you shouldn't need use any tweak utilities at all to get the glasses running. The revelator glasses will not trigger unless the refresh rate of the game your are playing is 100 Hz or more. The game refresh rate will be DIFFERENT from the desktop refresh rate that you set on the "monitor" tab of the "advanced" options for your video card. The reason the medical test isn't working is because the resolution of the screen for the test is 640 by 480 and BY DEFAULT, the refresh rate will be less than 100 Hz. In order to properly set the refresh rate for the resolution of interest, you need to enable stereo in games, even if the medical test doesn't work. Then press the button for additional stereo properties (it is the button to the right of the medical test button), which will be greyed out unless you enable stereo. On this page, you will be able to select your monitor size, the color depth (16 vs. 32 bit), screen resolution and REFRESH RATE for each resolution. For simplicity, I would suggest that you set the refresh rate to 100 Hz for all color depths and resolutions for testing purposes. At this point, your glasses should work properly. If DDC functions are enabled, you might not be able to select 100 Hz on this page, in which case you'll need to disable DDC. |

mm... at 800x600 I can only go upto 85 Hz, but I have seen this glasses working at work in same monitor, on win98se plus the old stereo drivers on a tnt2 gfx card... My old cable glasses also worked in my computer in the same monitor in win98se, also with old drivers. Since elsa/nvidia switched to new stereo drivers (the old ones were this ones with the config panel on-screen when pressed * at numkeypad) I can not see my glasses working anymore, even with win98se, not to name Xp... |

AmPos i am pretty sure the sync problem is because of DDC (i had the same problem). Buy a new monitor cable and remove pins 12 and 15 (DO NOT TOUCH Y CABLE !!! REMOVE PINS ONLY ON MONITOR CABLE). Also check this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ NVIDIA Corporation \ Global \ Stereo3D be sure StereoViewer Value is set to 1 hope it helps |

I am going far... I installed my monitor driver, and now i can get 640 and 800 at 100 khz (and the OSD from the mmonitor sais 100.1). Now, everything is installed (23.11 from ELSA, and STEREOE.EXE too) and running. But every 3D screen makes my glasses run, but out of synch. I have at work a 17" mon that worked yesterday, but with win98se and old stereo drivers (but on a TNT2 LT gfx card), so if i bring it at home, should it work? BTW, i have 2 ELSA "Y cable", so i can go with one. Where should I remove the pins? In the output from the Y cable or in the input? Thanks. |

I am STILL having problems... I work on the XP Revelator problem for month now and still no success. I use Win XP Pro, Athlon 700, Epox 8KTA3 (Via 133), GeForce 2TI. Driver 23.12 WHQL VIA 4in1 4.37V I switched to AGP x2 and disabled fast write, still my system crashes when I activate the medical test screen or the test program. Strange enough open GL games start in flicker mode but the glasses dont flicker. |

ok, it seems this registry key is required if you use win XP. I will soon post the link for Win98 one. http://lie.ngi.it/stereoxp.reg PS : this is my registry key, so maybe you will need to change monitor size in Stereo tab |

Hello, I have installed WinXP, with Detonator Win2K-XP_23.11.exe, and StereoE.exe (V23.11). When i launch any d3D application, the system reboot. (even with "enabled by hotKey" in stereo mode configuration.) I have a Thunderbird 1.4Ghz with VIA-k7t266A Chipset, so in download the latest service pack 4in1, and agp driver beta v.410, but it's the same... system reboots. (if i check "disable" in stereo mode, it's ok) I tryed to install the same config under W98se, and it's ok, the stereo works..grrrr I don't understand. Am i the only one or not? |

I have a similar problrm except: My system is WinXp & I am using Nvidia's 23.11 drivers for my ErasorX2, & everthing is fine but when I installed Nvidia's StereroE driver I can't even look @ my display properties it just says error & I have to uninstall StereoE to see my display properties. Does anyone have any idea of why this is? I have tried re-downloading the drivers just in case they were corrupted...Thanks for any help |

You simply have to kill all nvrs??? files in windows/system32 directory. If you do this you can enjoy the nice reboot and crash feature! *gg* |

Hello, Another evening configuring stereo viewer...but still doesn't works. I tried with lasts (and also olders) 4in1 via's service packs, but it's always the same. the only thing that works with stereo3d under XP is the nvsttest.exe (it's nice, but i don't buy revelator for only that...) One thing that could help you: For choosing "enabled or by Hotkey" without crashing the system, you have to choose it immediately after the stereo3d driver intallation. (before rebooting) A very important question for trying to solve the problem: Does intel chipset users have the same problem? Sinon, pour les français, j'aimerais avoir quelques urls francophones sur la stereovision. Thanks, byebye! |

for the Win XP crashing i think it is just a registry key download and install GeforceTweakUtility then run it and on the Stereo tab click on MAKE IT WORK eventually check this registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ NVIDIA Corporation \ Global \ Stereo3D and set StereoViewer value to 1 now it should work without problems PS : on Win XP i noticed stereovision is still not good since glasses flicker a lot (especially during hd activities). Wasn't able to fix that. On Win 98 instead it works without problems |

Thanks, everybody! Finally it's working, but not satisfatory. It's flicking frequently. My monitor only supports 85Hz for 1024*768, and ELSA's recommended refresh rate is over 100Hz. Do I need to set the resolution, whatever it is, to satify this requirement? Is there any other way that I can keep using 1024*768? I don't want to change windows resolutions and stereoscopic resolution all the time. ^^; Please help me again. Thanks in advance! |

>>> difference between "blinking" and "flickering"? O.K. shutterglasses do always flicker. That's their job. If the screen refresh rate is set to 100Hz they should flicker at 100Hz in a stable way. The Revelator- and nVidia-reference drivers use a form of software-invoked-page-flipping and produce a trigger signal on the VGA-port. They are vulnerable to resource conflicts. Therefore there are sometimes slipups in the page-flipping which are very annoying. The page-flipping 'hangs' if you will. They look like lightning during the game. We usually call them slip-ups, flashes or blinks. Christoph |

@Patrick: Same old story, I'd guess : try to remove all nvrs*.dll files from \windows\system directory (or wherever they are in w2k, try with 'find files') - that should get the NVidia control panel back to work. |

you need to use the "nVidia Stereo driver" with "Revelator", also winxp will change screen refresh rates on its own, and you may need to use a program to lock the refresh rates with a freeware program called "refreshlock" any program will do as long as it locks the refresh rates you can find them here http://guru3d.com/files/ |

I have recently updated the nvidia drivers(41.09) for my GeForce 4 TI 4400. After the update the Stereo tab in the advanced settings contol panel for the display/grphics card disappeared. I tried to install the latest 3D stereo driver(30.87) from nvidia again but it didn´t help. My Elsa Revelator glasses worked with the old graphics driver. Doesn`t the new driver support 3D stereo at all or is there a searate driver/control panel hidden somewhere? |

30.x stereo drivers do not work with 4x.xx detonators. See this link to stereovision.net forum for the 'official' workaround. Direct link to 4x.xx stereo driver from ELSA Asia Note: ELSA page says 'ELSA products only', but hopefully there isn't any PCI ID check built in... |
