Hi. I'm using the Wicked 3D beta with an i-Art Eye-3D Deluxe kit and a 3DFX Voodoo 3 3000 board. I already know it's not the best cart to be using, but I don't have a choice at the moment. I'll upgrade eventually ;)

Anyway, the Wicked 3D drivers seem to work pretty well for me in most cases, so I'm pretty happy with what I've got. I'm fairly new to PC stereoscopy (cringes and dodges the word "newbie"), but I do take responsibility to get to know the stuff as well as I can before I ask for help. I've even learned to make my own stereo.cfg files for some games that need but don't have any (Rayman 2, GTA 2)...

Anyway, I have a couple of odd problems. The first and most bothersome is that Carnivores 2 doesn't work correctly no matter what I do. In 3Dfx Glide, objects near the middle of the view (in terms of z axis) become 2-D. Objects close to the screen or very far from it maintain their proper depth. I've tried to fix this with no results at all. Also, the sky textures become corrupt about two seconds into the game.

I know there is a cfg file for the game's D3D mode, but for some reason it does not work for me. No 3D at all. In fact, a lot of Direct 3D seems to act strangely. Normally, a Direct X or Direct 3D game that doesn't use the Z buffer in the right way for Wicked to recognize it simply display in two dimensions... however some old 3D titles I've tried (Panzer Dragoon, Road Rash, Krazy Ivan) display in 2D and then give me a message that Wicked 3D could not render the 3D environment correctly. The 2D display in these games wouldn't bother me if not for the message. Does that mean that these games *almost* use D3D in a way that the Wicked drivers can deal with? The drivers don't fail on all of my D3D games though. Shogo is beautiful.

I've had perfect success with several other games, especially with Glide, but I was just wondering if anyone had any hints regarding these two issues. I know Carnivores 2 isn't a great game, but my girlfriend absolutely loves dinosaurs, and I'd like to impress her ;)

If I you haven't already stopped reading, I'd like to finish with some smaller questions...

The stereo.cfg instructions at stereovision.net seem outdated to some extent. Can anyone point me to information about changes and new commands, stereo.d3d files, and the difference between stereo.cfg and stereo.gld?

Is there a way to set a stereo.cfg to reverse the left and right images? GTA2 is inverted for me unless I press the stereo reverse button on the dongle.

Can a stereo.cfg or stereo.d3d force incresed stereo separation for a specific game?

What are the benefits of using Win3d?

How much benefit will I get once I finally wsitch to Nvidia, and how hard will it be to get Glide-only games working?

Thanks for your time =)
