I recently got a pair of Revelator glasses. For the most part they work fine, but I've got a couple of weird problems. In DeusEx, there are a few locations where the stereo collapses. There is a narrow strip at the top of the screen which flickers randomly (it seems to contain the wrong stereo data), and the shutters on the glasses flash erratically. Moving, or looking in a different direction, can briefly fix the problem. Wherever I am in the game, bringing up the menu or inventory almost always causes this. I've tried changing resolution, framerate and Vsync (in deusex.ini) to no avail. Also, in Serious Sam, enabling the stereo laser sight causes the menus to be invisible, and ghastly 'smearing' in the rolling demo that shows before you bring up a menu and load a game. I'm using the generic Detonator 23.11 drivers (for the card and stereo) on Windows ME (UK), with an Elsa Gladiac 920. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

A bit more info. The flashing in DeusEx problem seems to go away when I disable my sound card (Soundblaster audio PCI?), although this ISN'T sharing an IRQ with the graphics card (and nor is anything else). |

Hm. I sort of solved the flashing in DeusEx by reducing the sound sampling rate to its minimum, which moves the corruption to a very narrow strip at the bottom of the screen. Apparently the Revelators can cope with this. Strangely, the problem seems to occur when there is silence! Nothing on the total screen screw-up in Serious Sam if the laser sight is enabled. |
