I don't know if this has been discussed before, but i think i should share it. I started having the same problem of lock-ups and glasses not flickering at all on windows XP. The only solution everytime was to completely uninstall and reinstall the drivers and stereo extension. They worked for a while and after that, again... no flickering and lock-ups. Trying to figure it out, i came to the following conclusions: 1- don't use anything over 23.11 - they give you a lot of BSOD's and glasses DO NOT Flicker at all under any setting. I'm using 22.80 as they are the most stable before the crappy BSOD on 23.11 and after. (i tried almost all of the 27's and same thing) 2- THIS IS IMPORTANT: The vertical SYNC of the monitor should be ALWAYS ON under direct3d or OpenGL. I guess this should be a requirement since glasses need to syncronize with monitor (??) 3- Never run any king of windowed opengl software (3dmax, autocad, proe etc... ) with the stereo drivers activated. They give you a lot of BSODs or just crappy performance I was having problems cause i use powerstrip to overclock my geforce3, and the profile that was configured by default was always checking the refresh sync OFF (the way it should be to get good FPS on benchmarks, he he). It took me a while to get it, since the damn thing worked 1 reboot and the next one just defaulted to sync off (DOH!). Something i should say also... NVMAX 3, is giving me somekind of incompatibility with the glasses too.(when it's loaded and you try to run a game) I don't know exactly why, but it's not a big deal since i use powerstrip. I hope this helps a little bit. I worked for me 100% of the time. I still get the stupid flashes once in a while though |
