Has anyone got this combination working? No matter what I try, when I run IL2 in OGL the game freezes as soon as I turn on 3d. If you have gotten it working, could you give me settings?

I have zero problems with it. Am using the 3d29.80 drivers and edimensional glasses in win xp. I have a Geforce 4 but there are absolutely no reason it wouldn´t work for you. Just make sure you uses the latest detonator drivers. You can try set the 3d to be enabled all the time and not via hotkeys, that helps for some games for me.
